Is this Henley trying to make a push for the playoff spot? I see Rams have all but won the league. I wonder how these teams will fare up in National 1.

According to the Oxford Mail, Goodfellow needs some game time as Chinnor have a abundant of scrum halves at the moment, so their head coach thought Henley was a good team to play for on loan instead of 2nd team rugby. I don’t know why Bolster has come to us, I have to find out.

Bolster apparently has been working and staying up nearby, the commute back and forth to Bristol didn’t make sense so he decided to relocate.

A good solid kicker who would be welcome at most clubs.

No but I am and Ben was a really good player. At one point he was No 4 on the points list in this league. Sad loss for Dings but understand why he had to leave. Will be good to see him next week back at Shaftesbury Park, if he is fit and selected.

It is a sign of the times when Chinnor are loaning players to Henley Smile

Greg has played well this season when selected and his place kicking has been outstanding. Personally I would play him before the imports from London Scottish.

When he was at Redruth he was a dislikeable player. When he is on your side he is great !!

Seems an odd decision for Chinnor to loan out Goodfellow if he has been playing well and goal kicking for them? From reports he kicked the winner last week and in this weeks paper Chinnor missed a penalty at the death to win? Maybe these ‘imports have something on him’ never really understood the whole loan players unless your short in positions. Maybe Henleys gain is Chinnors loss. Bolster sounds promising from Neilskns reports and a good addition for the hawks. I’ve only watched a few hawks games this season so look forward to seeing the new additions in action. May have to become a regular spectator soon down at Dry leas.

Good Morning

Being a Bournemouth supporter, i'm interested to hear, if all of the sides in Nat 2S pay their players. I dont know what the funding for next season may look like but I know that this year the team is amateur, barring 2 player coaches. Also if you know of any good players who might like to move to the sunny south coast play for free please could you point them to Bournemouth!!!!!!!

It would be nice to watch a game every now and then that doesn't go down to the last play ! Seven points has been the biggest margin in all of the matches played at Chinnor in N1

And yes I would have expected Greg to kick the penalty missed at the end on Saturday.........

Does seem odd according to your results on your website that 7 points is the biggest margin Chinnor have won by, has there ever been a team with as close finishes in a season like chinnors? However for a first season in National League One they are certainly a team to worry about.
On the subject of payment for players I think it’s probaly a well known fact Leo that most if not all clubs in National 2 make some sort of payments towards players. However I may be wrong in saying this and more regulars on this site may be able to enlighten us both on that subject.
I guess you can’t kick goals unless your on the pitch Fatbear but Goodfellow sounds an interesting character both on and off the pitch.

Chinnor beat Plymouth by 11 points, but that was away. We had a last minute interception try to extend the lead. We lost by 10 points at Blackheath, who scored a converted try in the last minute, and lost at Ampthill by 11 points but camped on the Ampthill line at the end in search of the losing bonus point.

The other 16 matches have been decided by 7 points or less, with the two draws both having tries with the last move of the matches ( once for us, once against )

No-one leaves early when we are playing this season !

Everyone knows their club is as poor as a church mouse and could not possibly pay and the players all come from the mini and youth ad play for pride.

Whereas every other club has a plutocrat backer who is as rich as creosous and gives all their players Ferarris and spanish villas for carrying the water bottles and is therefore full of mercenaries come from the ex-colonies just to deny hard workign Englishmen the right to play in national 2.

Leo.......I have often wondered what it would be like to see a league table, arranging Nat2S sides by how much they pay.  On the whole, I suspect it would very much match the actual league table.  There are a few sides in our league who have the enviable wherewithall to top their squads up with quality imports and reward their stalwarts well.  Excellent as far as I am concerned and a status we should all aspire to.

Goodfellow is an undeniably effective half back and with Bolster, might give the (otherwise forward oriented Hawks) another useful dimension in the run-in.  It will be tight and interesting.  I would echo Fatbear's comment in that i found him thoroughly unlikeable and to be fair, several refs over the years seem to have agreed.   I confess I thought he was first choice at Chinnor.

Otherwise......what a league Nat1 is eh ?   The best rugby I have ever watched......I hope to see my lot back there one day, and for more than a single season next time !!

Stourbridge have tried to sign Ryan hough from Hinckley on loan to replace Luke Veebel as he hasn’t lived up to expectations.

Is that a joke? I'll be amazed if Ryan would even contemplate such a move down the table, notwithstanding the power of Stour's £££££. I may be wrong though.  Luke Veebel is an absolutely quality player, as are Ricky Aley and Nick Cairns - I've worked with all of them.  It seems to me that the problem at Stour isn't about a few individuals but much broader issue regarding establishing an atmosphere in which players want to and are able to perform at their best. A successful team isn't simply the sum of it's individuals.

Can see the truth in Veebal looking elsewhere though

Is this just a question of the atmosphere created around a group of paid players compared to fostering a team ethos. Surely its easier to create that when all are paid nothing or modest amounts?

Yes...but if you want to compete in nat 2... you have to pay.

Luke was still in the Hinckley clubhouse at 9.00pm on Saturday enjoying a few beers with the home players  - many of whom he'd played with for Leicestershire - and looked to be really enjoying himself there.
