Always a joy to welcome Worthing, great for the bar takings!
2 - 0 last year, mainly down to your winger who had a rocket up his backside.
But as they say, that was last year.

In all seriousness Rt, Matt Shepherd’s a great signing for you. Wasn’t he with you briefly as a SH when he first left St Austell?

Yes, but struggled to get game time with Greg Goodfellow at the club.

Right, that's the holidays doen with, now I can get down to the serious summer business of posting on Rolling Maul. Looking forward to meeting new friends in National 2 South as Esher take a breather from the high-octane pace of National 1.

Lots of speculation about the squad we will have, most of last year's players have stayed. Henry Paul has moved to Rosslyn Park and Kariym Irving to Blackheath and there were 5 retirements, 4 from old age, 1 from injury!

New signings so far:

Lorcan Dow from Richmond (Ireland Under 20 No.8)
Hugh Sloan from Queen's University Belfast (Ulster Under 20 Lock)
Ross Parsons from London Irish Wild Geese (scrum half)
Ben Davies (Wales Students back-row)

Squad of 46 confirmed for two teams with another 6 to be added. Really active recruitment from the new management team, the Wonder Ws.

Chester have been drip-feeding the list of players retained over the past few weeks. Looks like most of the first team - including head coach Jan Van Deventer - have committed for the coming season. I think Ross White, mainstay at second-row for what seems like forever, has finally hung up his playing boots.
