I must be a bit thick because I don't understand the above at all.  8 in region of 20?

The only way I can make any sense is he is a no.8 and was offered approx. £20k package made up of car, house (rental), retainer and match fee.

Possibly TT can clarify?

I think he is referring to Cirian Moore who has recently gone to Sale FC after spells at Moseley, Stourbridge, Blackheath and, Cambridge.

So you're asking us to believe that a players at level 4 is getting 20K?  I simply do not believe that . No single player can get close to meriting that kind of money at Nat 2. When I stepped down as DoR in Nat 2 two years ago that would have been one third of our entire playing budget for 2017-18.  And we finished above Tigers and Stour,

This is a ridiculous thread and totally unsubstantiated 20 k ??? Keenan Mower was on 25k and had a bar tab at the local Bathams pub ( bitter or mild only - Becks had a 50p supplement that Mooeer would never pay ) He also had the rights to the first slain lamb from the adjacent farm which he never took up due to being a Veegun

Nice kid though & great at weight assisted pull ups 👍

Nat 2 s

We have heard of a few signings from Taunton but what is happening at Esher, Tjs, Henley?
Will they be up to the challenge or have Taunton made the biggest strides forward towards the top spot in the off season?

Don't get drawn in mate, wont tell anyone who he is and orangess his own committee off (real club man) so take with a pinch of salt.

However I guarantee that you have absolutely NO idea what our top 5 earners get !!! Not that its really relevant !

From the stories I have heard, where boot money was paid much of it went straight back over the bar.

Though I am sure there were a few who were paid enough they got to take some home.

Clubs offering a reasonable reward for a players services and then being 'trumped' by another Club offering more is nothing new. It happens all of the time.
It can be a little bit annoying when the Club offering more is playing in the league below your Club.
Unfortunately, the only winners are the players.

This has all got me thinking, I am wondering if match day announcers should be paid now ?, and if so, could it be backdated.
I happen to know that the eloquent announcer at Stourbridge has been approached by Hinkley, where they historically announce Sod all.
Apparently Money bags Dour have offered a retainer and Mrs O to make him stay

Hinckley (don't forget the c) would have to get a PA system first. There isn't one and never has been, and having heard most of the ones in N2 I'd be happy for it to stay that way.

Although Wharfedale may have lost Reece Ward to titans, I hear they have a ‘big’ (In every sense) signing to bulk up that front row

The loss of Reece Ward has seen a drop in pie prices across the Dale.  Wardy is a great character, a fearsome scrummager and I for one will miss him and wish him well. His replacement perhaps lacks some of his strength in the tight, but has many more strings to his bow, and also a top, top bloke.

Well I can confirm Clifton are paying the Army 10 Dixon, £600 retainer plus £200 a game plus travel expenses form Camp to the ground.

I would say he will have a fair build up with Army XV games (circa 10-12) , plus any Combined Services games that he could figure in plus his regimental ones ...... value for money  ?? not quite the £20k mark I know but still a fair chunk !

Good luck with that. We had a couple of army players a few seasons back and barely saw them.
