Here's the table

PWDLFA+/-TBLBPts
1London Irish 88003121122006038
2Ealing Trailfinders 9702321256657035
3Nottingham 9603257221365130
4Bedford Blues 960323623424230
5Cornish Pirates 9504260240208230
6Jersey Reds 8503257159985328
7Coventry 9405177245-683221
8London Scottish 9306203260-573318
9Doncaster Knights 9306220245-252317
10Richmond 9306201218-172216
11Hartpury College 9207155270-1151211
12Yorkshire Carnegie 9108135274-139127

A split in the table is establishing between the top 6 and bottom 6.

Yorkshire are the surprise team at the bottom.

Coventry are where I expected them lower mid-table area.

I feel Blues could've been 2 wins better off having lost to Coventry and Scottish but have also had a few narrow wins, letting teams back in the game.

Titans are top of ND1, but 4 points separate 1st from 7th, so it is very open at the moment.

Just had a look at the upcoming league fixtures as we begin to prepare for the pointless cup break and I received a nasty shock.
Jersey's next 5 league fixtures are against:
LI - Top
Ealing - 2nd
Nottingham -3rd
Bedford - 4th
LI - Top.....Gulp!

Of course, if we were to win all of those then the league would have a very different look to it....simples.

There is a split in the table, but judging by the closeness of some of the matches, things could change in the New Year.

Well, that will either be the making of the Jersey Reds or the breaking, I could see you getting at least 2 W's though

Totally agree CPK, although I would like to think that we will win all 3 of our home games. The trips to Ealing and LI will be really tough, however, I am happy to predict that all of these games will be very tight, generally high scoring and well worth watching....shame that a pointless cup competition is in the way of some really exciting and tense rugby.

It will be an interesting second half.

I'm still utterly bemused that Saturday was our (Blues) last home league game until January 12th, I still cannot believe the clubs agreed this ridiculous situation where they effectively have destroyed their cashflow!

Likewise.
As far s I can tell, it was a choice of that, or midwinter season break until mid-January, and 6 fewer matches.
The horrifying thought is that all the teams we will play until mid-January are the same three - apart from Canada this coming Monday.

Ealing are offering a deal where you can get the home pool matches for £36. A tacit acknowledgement that the cup games are not going to be worth full-whack. I think that the idea of taking on a tier 2 (or 3) nation would be far more interesting than the upcoming few weeks.

Dunc 999 the clubs did not agree this structure. The draft structure when it came out from the RFU mirrored last season with the Cup Comp spread throughout the first two-thirds of the season as the B and I was. All the clubs were shocked when the confirmed structure came out with 6 games on the bounce. So the next round of league matches will now be played in Jan/Feb when the weather/pitches traditionally are at their worst instead of a meaningless cup competition. The great news is it is likely to be exactly the same next season as well!
One day this pain will make sense to you

Been reading back to the predictions thread.
Particularly interested to see the amount of people who said Nottingham would be relegation fodder and particularly posts about O’Leary- I quote ‘I bequeath to them the curse of O’Leary’
Top points scorer in the league and 4th in the table, unbeaten at home for 4 matches.
I love it when we prove people wrong ;)

I am happy that Shane is having a good season - he always seemed like a nice enough guy in Ealing and I wish him well in helping Canada qualify for the World Cup. But - at some point, when a game is at a crucial juncture, he is going to do something that makes your jaw drop with disbelief. Examples being missing touch on a penalty kick by kicking through the dead ball line from five meters, and kicking directly into touch with no one in front of him from just outside the 22.

Shane O'Leary, he may not be perfect but the good people of Nottingham love him. I can guarantee he loves wearing the Green of Nottingham, reminds him of Tipperary, his birth place.
