From RN Twitter:

"Congratulations to @armyrugbyunion on a quality 27-11 win and becoming well deserved Inter Services 2019 Champions.

Awesome game and both teams really went at it. Well done to the players, support staff and fans"

After Jolly Jack and the Toms "went at it" a bit too hard off the field last year, KO was brought forward to 14.00 and there was a load of Old School/Union St behaviour afterwards in the surrounds. There was even talk of Twickenham letting the fixture move elsewhere (Cardiff?).

Just heard from family nearby that whole swathes of pubs/shops closing at 19.00 tonight to avoid a re-run.

Filling HQ year on year is an amazing acheivement, but service rugby fans need to clean up their act collectively.
Come cheer up, my lads - 'tis to glory we steer!

On that premise, London 7s should have moved years ago...

I think Richmond Council are more behind this than the RFU .... trust me, RFU would not want to lose Army v Navy, where the crowd has gone up significantly in the last 15 years, with the added numbers through the gate, more alcohol bought, more programmes sold etc etc, with the state of the RFU finances, they need every pound of revenue going .....

Still not clever to have the bad publicity - another rugby related complaint on a flight from Bristol.this weekend which although much smaller in scale indicates a lack of respect for others.

Have to say, as an ex sailor, that i’ve been concerned by the army navy for a while. 10 years or so ago it was a great day out - so good in fact that one famous year none of us made it past the car park because we were having so much fun in the marquees. It was a great reunion session that you looked toward to for months. It also would have the entire top tier closed and seating gaps elsewhere....

What we’ve got now is a behemoth that sells out in something like 2 hours, servicemen and women struggle to get tickets, and the retired can only get one if they know the right person... meanwhile the place is mobbed with the “support our soljerz” types. Different animal almost overnight - they could probably go for a slightly smaller ground and only give tickets to the serving and ex, and it would be a much better day out and more akin to what it was in very recent memory.
keep the faith
