With six or seven players injured Blaydon are doing well and those drafted in have taken their chance.
Now for the big one Tynedale on Sunday with hopefully a 2000+crowd.

where are the other 1600 coming from as both teams normally attract 200ish and that would be the largest crowd in this division for many years

Without trying to hijack the thread, there were 2149 at Jersey v Tynedale the other week.  Will be interesting to see how many turn out for next weekends home fixture against Club.  If it isn't raining again, I'm guessing it will be around the 2000 mark (beats Christmas shopping!!).

LTwo years ago on a miserable Feb Sunday there were 1500 at Blaydon and the time before at Tyne over 2500 (est by me ) turned  up .
Jersey had over 2000 the other week or does Rabbie Burns not read the papers.

It is a well known fact that there will be at least 200 retired pipe smoking schoolteachers attending from both clubs, all sporting grey beards, wearing barbour jackets, county caps, yellow waistcoats, brown brogues, checked shirts, ties with foxes heads on,cavalry twills, and complaining about the temperature of Sharons real ale. (and thats just the women!)....!!!

Official returns (on Statbunker) say 1021 & 810 respectively.

All attendance data seems to me to be no more than rough estimates for the reasons we all know. Cash at gate is straightforward but then there are members with season tickets, students and other young people who may get in free, players and spectators at other simultaneous games (at multi-pitch clubs) who then drift over to the 1st team match, guests at sponsored lunches, people coming in at half-time who don't pay etc. How many clubs have or would want turnstiles, the only accurate way of counting?

Where would they come from? Being a Sunday game, there would be many who would be involved with other clubs in the region gladly grabbing an excuse to avoid Christmas shopping. I should think at least 5000 will be telling their wives that they are off to the game

That's a great shame ... The NE really needed a game in this league with a huge crowd .. Let's hope they can reconvene on another date guaranteed to draw a great croud ... Why not boxing day?

That makes sense. It is the first "spare" Saturday.

Would have been a great Christmas Eve game though, with the clubs close enough for supporters / weather impact
