More snow in Leeds last night plus a biting easterly wind and uncertain conditions for those travelling north have led to our game being postponed. I expect they could have got the pitch ready but access would have been difficult.

Update: I see the game at Lady Bay has also now been postponed.

That's easy for you to say.

There is just 1 "free" weekend only if Blues and Ealing lose their home BIC matches, so it looks like it could be midweek matches.

I think that in the short term this could benefit Ealing. I suspect that they'll be putting out a less...revolutionary side with a bit more rest between games - due to the last snow cancellation they were due to play 6 games in 6 weeks.

If Ealing continue to progress in the B and I Cup they would have matches every weekend up until mid-May except for the May Bank holiday weekend when the postponed match with Yorkshire could be played?

I believe all Championship matches need to be played by 28 April so that leaves Ealing 1 free weekend for the Leedshire game -  21st April.

Is this the season when prize money is based on the final league position? With Bristol unlikely to be caught I was wondering if the games might not in the end need to be played if there is fixture congestion.
That's easy for you to say.

It’s quite possible that the top two spots may have been decided by mid-April. However, given that the next five clubs are currently separated by just four points there may still be much to play for.
Speak softly, but carry a big stick.

Yes.

I believe it is something in the region of £60-70k prize-money for the team finishing second, with £5k steps downward from there for the remaining places...

Poor weather this late in the season creates fixture headaches. As mentioned, both Ealing and Bedford would hope to have B&I Cup semi-final commitments to add to their existing schedules...

In that case I suppose we may have to run into May if these games can't be squeezed in before the end of April.

Here's the link to the RFU rules to the Championship - section 4 is for fixtures including postponements etc.

http://www.englandrugby.com/mm/Document/General/General/01/32/61/38/ChampionshipRegulations2017-18FinalClean_English.pdf

Currently set that all games must be played by the end of the 28th April UNLESS the organising committee deem there to be exceptional circumstances, which, judging by the way the 'committee' run things, they'd probably not make allowances even if teams were playing twice on the same day....

We had to play a league match against Doncaster on a Tuesday afternoon in late February a few years ago, as we needed to have all other league fixtures completed before the final round of the 'regular' season.

That was the year Doncaster had to play 9 games in 27 days.
