Both hookeslrs tied up for Ealing?
Both?
Surely they’ll need to tie up five or six?

Nice to see him find a good fit in Doncaster. For some reason, he just never gelled with the Ealing squad at all.

Did well first time for us, 8 starts six trys this time, so going well

Todays Rugby paper mentioned Chris Elder has dropped a level and signed to Chinnor in N1. If so that's a huge signing for them!

Not wrong Tom - that guy is quality. Perhaps it is a coaching role as well

Heard rumours cov have signed Rory Jennings from Scottish next season, which is all good what does that mean for the developement players at cov such as Daniel Lewis who’s been playing well and even the boys who are on loan to other clubs, such as the big winger on loan to Cambridge he hasn’t had a look in so far and if cov don’t sign them I’m sure they will look elsewhere

I’ve heard that rumour too. I doubt that Rory Jennings (should he come) will have at 10 any impact on winger Kwaku Asiedu (who has been having an excellent season).

It’s life.

Not everyone who plays for a development squad will get selected for a main squad. Some won’t be good enough. Some will put their career outside rugby ahead of the training needs of a Championship team. What they will have though is the massive advantage of being known by the main team coaching staff, and either gain by being made an offer on that basis, or equally by not being made an offer and avoiding failing at the wrong club for them.

Dan Lewis has looked excellent at full back as well and may be another Tony Fenner - able to play at several positions.  We do IMHO need some experienced back up at fly half...

I'm pretty sure Asiedu is being nurtured for a Cov career.
Irrelevant to the out-half situation though, as already mentioned.
As Rob says, Lewis looks comfortable anywhere he plays, and is another I doubt will be going anywhere.
The Cov Dev system is definitely starting to bear fruit, with the above, Jeannot, Roach, and several others looking the part.
I can see Ben Palmer moving on though, as his main
career doesn't fit well with rugby at this level. Someone will benefit greatly.

While we would willingly keep Asiedu, I suspect he is too good to stay in Nat 1 very long.

You're probably right CQ. Personally I was hoping to see him play a few for Cov this season, but pragmatism (and, I suspect, a fondness for Cambridge on the part of Rowland Winter) prevails. Probably rightly.

Personally I'd favour having a separate thread for rumours/gossip, retaining this one for confirmed news... I believe Cov's message board takes that approach.

Fully agree Islander.
Feel free to start one should you wish.
Most rumours that pop up tend to be nonsense though, IMO. Some will be based on fact, obviously.

Matt Smith will be the first new addition of the 2019/20 season for Doncaster.

The second row has signed a one-year-contract with Doncaster as he makes the move to South Yorkshire, after over 100 league appearances for Yorkshire Carnegie.
