No 7, all clubs have lost players who have "signed" new deals between now and the start of a new season.  Just a way for Ealing to acquire a fee for the player when he leaves....... will have to wait and see

Good point ! but makes this thread virtually pointless in effect !.
Ambition should be made of sterner stuff.

Disagree the point of the thread is to advise the current state of play not predict what might happen in the future.

I am not aware of players who have signed and then moved on at Ealing.

Does this happen at Bedford and other clubs. I assume players recieve better offers, either upwards to the Premiership or more money elsewhere.

It's pretty hard to stand in the way of a player who gets an offer to play at the highest level of the domestic game. Not only because of the 'status uplift' but also because of the salary hike that inevitably comes with it. If you refuse him permission to speak to a suitor club then he's likely to be disaffected and it could affect his contribution and risk turning him into a 'bad apple'...

So yes, it does happen, and is the way of the world, but at least if a player is under contract, the old employer receives some compensation.

Sam Tuitupou and Phil Nilsen announce their retirement from the end of this season. Both already anticipated.
Both have done a great job for Cov over the last two seasons, and will be missed.

London Scottish 7, Lewis Wynne, signs up for next season, having been on a season-long loan this time around from Glasgow Warriors. Great acquisition for the club.

Jordan Burns, scrum half re-signs with Ealing. Incredible speed, box kicking needs a bit of work, but a very good signing.
