None of the fixtures have been released; there's been a leak of draft info to the media - sadly a fairly frequent occurrence in Championship circles, there's an element in the top brass somewhere which either doesn't know what the word 'confidential' means or has a casual indifference to it. Angry

The official announcement of the fixtures is scheduled for 12noon today.

As for the uncertainty about Yks Carnegie: clubs have players in training, tickets to sell, sponsors to attract; basically their entire seasons to plan. It's kinda useful to know when you'll be playing, and against whom, in order to do this. You're not seriously suggesting the entire league structure and fixture grid should be delayed because of uncertainty regarding one club out of 12, are you?

Jersey v Falcons
ABSOLUTELY MAGNIFICENT LOOKING FORWARD TO THOSE

And how in gods name is that a regional pool? I was anticipating Falcons, Coventry, Bedford / Ampthill (1 of these two). Hartpury is bleeding miles away, Jersey is what it is (at least a flight from my local airport is available potentially). Madness if you ask me.

Although it does give me two bites of the apple to visit Jersey Smile
If its right 4 chances to beat Falcons. Jersey winning all 4 games should attract cracking odds!
Dont kick it. Pick it up and GO FORWARD.

Surely, falcons, YC, Knights and Nottingham would have made more sense?

That is a long way for Richmond to travel - at least in this group they have Scottish.

usual disclaimer from Jersey that we'd advise people not to book their travel until the day & KO time for the game is confirmed...

With the fixtures now official I am not sure how the were worked out but because of the Championship Cup Bedford will have played Ealing, Ampthill and Coventry 3 times before we have played London Scottish, Hartbury, Jersey and Pirates it is easy to work it out so that does not happen however you need logical thinking for that

I am liking the Cup coming first. Lets teams have more time to gel before the serious games start.

I like the fact that we do not have to play the demoted team in the first match of the league season. Playing London Irish was possibly Ealing Trailfinders downfall.......plus losing the other games against Nottingham, Bedford and Richmond etc.

You can not afford to under estimate any team in the Championship, any team on their day can beat any other team , including the mighty Falcons.

It may be a tad pessimistic but I feel the forthcoming season will be the very last chance for any Championship side to squeeze into the Premiership. I for one, truly hope that if it is not Ealing Trailfinders, another Championship side makes it other than the demoted Newcastle Falcons.

I am massively worried about the trip to Cornwall to start the league season. With the new coaches and players from Leeds, I think Pirates will be formidable. Still, I would love to see a league where one loss isnt a disaster and the winner ends with 16 or 17 wins, so I welcome the strengthening of Pirates. That trip is rough for Ealing (brokendown bus), should be murder from Newcastle.

I think promotion is between Falcons (80% likely) and Ealing (20% likely) as although Pirates look strong and could beat both of the front runners on their day in reality they will look for a real promotion effort when S4C is a reality. Falcon's squad is the strongest I've seen in the time I've followed the Championship with Jersey and I fear Ealing missed their chance last season when Irish had one of the weaker squads for a demoted club but a great coaching team. I still hope to see Jersey beat Falcons in all four matches this season. My predictions are usually wrong however so Howay Ealing and every other Championship club make Falcons work for promotion.

There is a train from Newcastle all the way to the ends of the earth.......well Penzance. So they could go that way, but I reckon they will go down the day before and stop in a hotel, making it slightly less stressful on the body and the mind.
