Thanks all. I hope to do a day return via Gatwick so I will book a return taxi. Well done Amptill for fixing a 2.15pm kick off which should be fine for the 7.25pm Gatwick flight. I wish Blues would copy this one when they play Jersey at GR as a 3pm kick off doesn't accommodate a day return for Jersey supporters.
Dont kick it. Pick it up and GO FORWARD.

If you fancy a couple of drinks before the game The Albion (36 Dunstable St) is a cracking little pub. 12 hand pumps, including 8 guest ales. If you get a taxi there from Flitwick Station (around 5 minutes), it's then a nice 15 minute stroll to the clubhouse through the woods.

Yes Flitwick is closer to Ampthill than Bedford.  The two (Flitwick & Ampthill) are pretty much joint and are separated by the A507.

Firstly Ampthill have no floodlights a1415 start is normal in November. Why should Blues adjust kick off time to accommodate visiting fans Home advantage means just that make sure your team are as comfortable in there own environment as possible. Why not make a weekend of it like Blues fans do to Jersey

Blues fans, along with everyone else, have to do it once a season. A bit different for Jersey fans wouldn't you say. I'm all for making your fans count, but I think there is a bigger picture here.

Hospitality was always an important part of rugby when I played. Including the Siam & Championship cup away games Jersey have 15 away matches and domestically and financially I could never stretch to 15 "rugby weekends" each season. I respect the fact that Blues decision on kick off time should properly serve the interests of their own supporters but also appreciate the fact that Jersey regularly fix an earlier kick off to allow visiting teams to avoid the cost of an additional nights hotel bill.

I will certainly be in Bedford on the 1st Feb and will be making a weekend of it. I only hope that it is a little warmer than our Friday night trip there 2 seasons ago, a brilliant game which we managed to win 33-29, but the beer got colder AFTER it was taken out of the fridge!!....My favourite trip, my favourite opposition.

As had been mentioned "no lights = 14:15 kickoff" and late Dec/early Jan sometimes 14:00

Always found Bedford thoroughly accomodating, even when the visitors win Wink Tongue

So with all this talk of no relegation this year, presumably to safeguard the precious Leedshire, when will the rest of us be told what the format will be for the coming season?

What I am asking is: Is there an official deadline when the promotion and relegation to and from the Championship for the new season must be confirmed?

Seems grossly unfair to teams in the Nat 1 to even be discussing this at such a late stage.

Has no relegation from Championship been confirmed for this season yet?

We are used to having the rules change halfway through the season.
I think the theory is that there will be an expanded Premiership, so no relegation from Prem, and therefore need to have one up no down from Championship - or more if they expand the Championship or if Leeds fail to complete their matches.

Frankly a 13 team Premiership makes as much sense as a chocolate teapot - they ought to go to 14 if they are going to expand. Then push the Championship to 16. At which point you may not need National 1.

Agreed. 30 'National' sides, with regional leagues below that (but provision must be in place for merited progression right through).
IMHO.

I hope for one it never happens. The team which ends up last in the league should go down - if its Jersey so be it. Rugby should reward winners with promotion and avoid ring fencing. Rant over!

There have been season without relegation when the leagues were restructured.
When league are reduced, they usually keep one promotion spot.
