    Posted: 29 May 2010 at 15:08
I've gone through the signings and departures thread and compiled the following summary of confirmed (I hope) signings and retentions for 2010. I haven't bothered with players released - their agents can do the work of letting their availability be known! I've now totalled the number in each sqaud next to the club.
Please note any inaccuracies and I'll amend accordingly

Up to date as of today to the best of my knowledge.
Thanks again to everyone who has provided updates - especially those who have gone to the trouble of providing full lists.

Its not just me is it? It really is just a little ....... well like Bus Spotting!

Can I talk you through my 3 wickets yesterday? LOL
8-1-30-3. Last over was a bit of a nightmare mainly involving boundaries - one over too many, always the way eh? Swinging, dipping, drifting - everything apart from turn really. My thanks to the pitch for its sympathetic reaction to some average bowling.........

Bedford train Monday,Tuesday and Thursday evenings, if players can afford not to work they can also train during the day. I can assure you that at least 18 of that squad have other jobs. It does look a very impressive team that Mike has put together, Bluesman seems to think that that's the final squad, i think that there is one more signing to come. the forwards look much stronger than last season. I can see the blues challenging for second spot, Roll on August 13th

It does say on the Blues website

"This currently gives the Blues a squad line up ..."

So that would seem to suggest it is not quite finalised yet.

In English (thanks to Google translator, adjusted by me):

CETRANSA El Salvador confirmed the recruitment of English full-back Ian Davey, 23-year-old joins the Valladolid team from Bedford Blues RC. According to the club through a press release, Davey, who is 185 centimeters and weighs 90 kilograms, is characterized by "speed and power thanks to his physical condition."

"He is a great resource offensive player with both feet and hands, has a great reading of the game and the counter becomes a lethal weapon," the statement said. Davey made the first team at Bath at only 19 after being the leading scorer of tries for two years and internationally for England at Under 16 and Under 18.

"I was very attracted to the idea of playing in another country and will try to contribute my bit to the growth of Spanish rugby," said the player

Over the next three years he played in the Guinness Premiership, but did not have too many opportunities because of his youth, so that, at 21, went in search of game time at RC Bedford Blues, English Championship team, for whom he scored 24 tries in 39 games.

Davey, according to the club, has made clear what were the reasons that made him bet on CETRANSA and play in Spain. "I was very attracted to the idea of playing in another country and try to contribute my bit to the growth of Spanish rugby. I know it is building a great team with good players to compete in Europe and this caught my attention. I come with humility and with great sporting ambition, "he said.

The English full-back, who can also play wing and center, is the sixth addition of Valladolid set for next season following the signings of Pablo Feijoo, Gastón Graco, Jaime Nava, Juan Manuel Esera Lauina and Murr.

I thought I'd give this thread a bump now clubs have finished recruiting. I've edited my version of the squad to include latest signings Edd Thower and the Dual-Reg of Alex Brown. Also made a couple of positional changes.

I'd forgotten all about him being Dilley's son.....keep meaning to congratulate him on that fine partnership with  Sir Ian at Headingley ......wonder if there are any other sons of famous cricketers lurking at Championship/National League clubs.

Ashley Giles and son have been spotted up at Moseley a few times - just that Giles Jnr is only about 9 and was in a Minis tournament.

A few years before, Gladstone Small's lad was staring as a quick winger in the minis festival - must be almost Colts age by now.

would just like to add that Peterborough rugby (play there rugby from National 3 mids) prop Nico Steenkamp has made the move to Rotherham and played 66mins against Bristol, so seems to be handling himself at that level. Good luck to him

Nico has done ok so far, need to see more of him but a very aggressive prop. Only problem is that the other prop is 6'5"!
