Re: Where's the money coming from? new Posted by: osprey69 (IP Logged) Date: 02 June, 2010 19:17 Sut Mae.... I can tell you all where the money is coming from in one short sentence..... The Ospreys.... your proud new owners.... You will also soon be having 3 or 4 of our players on loan to help with their improvement/development... But the BIG news is that you will be getting the services of one Gavin Henson and Duncan Jones till December from what ive heard from a friend who is an Ospreys squad player...Both are almost back to full fitness but need match time especially Gavin having had the last year or so away from the game... Good luck next season lads... We will be watching our investment... Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 04/06/2010 18:44 by wyntngley. EDITED BY THE BLUES

A couple of benefactors with deep pockets and not very much from match tickets, season tickets, sponsorship and nothing from the Ospreys. £1.3m gap between income and expenditure was mentioned when the club went into administration at the start of last season. |

midseason would bring the wrath of the RFU down on them ...... better within the next few weeks before the season starts while the blazers are away and they may not notice.

The Ospreys are not the new owners of London Welsh.
Who owns the Ospreys?

It's that builder/demolition expert Mike Cuddy whose company, no doubt much to his delight, has gained the contract to knock down Stradey Park, ironically.

Cuddy's joint MD (with Roger Blyth), but I thought the Ospreys was still a 50/50 ownership by Neath RFC and Swansea RFC?

The ospreylian floodgates open? ospreys hooker on his way to ODP
Marc Breeze is hoping that a season of Championship rugby with London Welsh will help him establish himself with the Ospreys. 23-year old Breeze, who has four Ospreys appearances to his credit, will join the Championship outfit on a season long loan for the 2010/11 campaign. Ospreys bosses have made the decision to allow Breeze the opportunity to "further develop his game in a full-time professional environment'" after clocking up 79 Welsh Premiership appearances with Aberavon over the last five seasons. |

Floodgates? Surely with a name like that it should be 'wind of change blowing through ODP'...?

Some 6 weeks later and all London Welsh have is an on-loan hooker from Aberavon, who doesn't even make the squad page. That hardly suggests to me that the Ospreys 'own' LW. |

What was the outcome of the London Welsh fund raising appeal. They needed £500,000 to complete last season.Have they got some new financial backers as they say they are targeting promotion to the Premier this season.I hope its not all hot air and we dont get a repeat of last seasons fiasco. I hope we can presume the RFU have done a financial sustainability check on them.Hope they are in good shape as they play entertaining attractive rugby.
