great to have the exposure but a bit patchy in the coverage and as chas noted, someone needs to tell them about Cov!

Have Sky merely followed the RFU lead with the inclusion of Coventry?

Or are the RFU following Sky, seeing as the Sky report is dated 1 July, whereas the RFU report is 6 July!

I love the poll: 'Can Esher make it to the Premiership?'

Couldn't see the link to that, would have been a great laugh!
At the Esher AGM on Tuesday John Inverdale was asked what would happen if we won promotion to the Premiership next season. Following laughter John said he would collapse in the middle of the pitch unconscious if it happened.
If we did look like winning the play-offs we'd probably buy Harlequins and use them as our 1st XV while letting the other teams continue to play at Esher!

It's on the news page under 'Double swoop for Esher': http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,19133_6249768,00.html

Found it! Voted but the %ages didn't change - either they are fixed or so many people have voted that 1 vote isn't enough to change the %age. Thinking mathematically that means at least 2,000 people have voted - that's every Esher member voting for and some London Welsh members voting against!!
Like you, if we did get promoted we'd have to buy a Football ground as we can't develop a 10,000 seat stadium on our land until they remove the green-belt restrictions. That's unlikely to happen this year!!

What a ridiculous poll. Why ask that of a team who have just regained promotion to the Championship? Even if it transpires that we have an all-conquering squad this season (nice idea but in reality . . . very unlikely) we certainly haven’t got the facilities – have you seen our stand; if it wasn’t for the hundreds of layers of paint applied over the last few decades it would probably get blown over!!! And as for our parking . . . . . So, unless an investor with VERY large pockets comes along . . . it ain’t gonna happen. To be fair though, it does ask “Can Esher go on to secure promotion to the Premiership” but doesn’t actually put a timescale on it . . . . so, maybe in a few years then!!! |

It's interesting to see that London Welsh apparently won the Magners League this year.......

Not us, maybe - but our 'parent' club (if the rumours are to be believed).
You don't do 'tongue-in-cheek', do you...?

Esher will play in the Premiership next season and will be in the Heineken Cup in 2 years . If they don't they will disappoint me.
|
||
|
Take my offer into consideration because Don Corleone doesn't make a second offer.

Unless you're the investor with very deep pockets we've been looking for . . . . . . . prepare to be disappointed !!!

I'm sure Don Corelone would be prepared to make you a very attractive offer, one infact you can't refuse.

Take note Don Corleone only makes one offer. Once a first offer has been refused I don't ask again.
I don't need big pockets, just a kind word and a heater, oh and Luca Brasi....he's very good with horses you know. He's slightly deaf though. I asked him if he wanted sugar in his coffee and he thought I said Shergar...........nice horse.
