28 June is the kick off
venue TBA Smile
top QC's in sports law , written constitutions and competition so I think all basis will be covered I hear our bundle goes to 42 pages of evidence so unclear if result on that day!

And the BBC version (presumably based on LWs) http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-union/18504308

"The RFU has announced that James Dingemans QC will chair the independent panel for the appeal, alongside Ian Mill QC and Tim Ward QC."

1/ What is the collective for QCs?
2/ What is the bill for 3 x QCs?

Collective noun is a Bar. Kind of appropriate Wink
As for the bill, think of a number then add some more noughts! I think the chairman of LW is a lawyer and according to Brian Moore on his twitter feed @TAFKAbrianmoore he charges something of the order of £700/hr Shocked
Mostly harmless!

For that sort of money I'd expect them to do the time for me if they lost!

Ian Mill was involved with Sheffield Utd and QPR cases. Tim Ward specialises in EU, Competition & Public Law. Chair James Dingemans amongst other things deals in sports law.
Not a clue if this is good or bad for Welsh. Interestingly you'd have thought the RFU's "cast in stone"position" would stand a hearing tomorrow, so one can only assume it's Welsh that will be benefitting from the extra 7 days. Still think it'll be the same result though. Unhappy

I have no further questions and I rest my case m'lud.

If the RFU happen to lose the case I hope they take it gracefully. I've never found them very appealing Wink

i see the welsh are having their own version of the club v union legal battle http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-18599355

basically pontypool fighting the wru's ruling that they should not be in the welsh prem next season, when it is due to be cut from 14 to 12 clubs. those west of the border appear to have got very hot under the collar over this, especially as 'pooler' is one of the most historic names in welsh rugby history...

believe this court case is one reason why the B&I cup draw is not being released for the time being...

But only the top six Welsh clubs qualify for the B&I, so even if they survive the cull it wouldn't make any difference.  Not that it stopped the Championship or Amlin fixtures being published, of course.

don't believe that's correct mark, i'm pretty certain B&I is 8 groups of 4 - 12 welsh, 12 english, 4 irish, 4 scottish...

you guys all set for tomorrow? any word on whether a verdict is likely straight away?

Yep, I think the WRU have released a press release saying all 12 WRU Premiership Clubs are involved next year. Haven't seen anything from the RFU though.

I'd be amazed if there was a verdict tomorrow. it's taken them 3 weeks to organize the team of QCs and venue, I'd guess at least a week before a decision.

And, yes, I know what that means in terms of knock-ons.Confused

I read somewhere that a 'period of disclosure' is already underway so that a decision may be reached relatively quickly.

"The panel is expected to announce its decision on Friday with seven hours scheduled for the hearing"

I'd be amazed.

They might well have already read the documentation, after all if there's one thing QC's ought to be good at it's reading and understanding a brief.  If so, today could well be intended for any last minute arguments from the parties involved( 1 hour each maybe) and then for the panel to confer and make its decision.  In which case an announcement tomorrow isn't utterly unlikely.

That sounds like a well thought out process and perfectly reasonable to expect them to be able to do.

Therefore it probably wont happen that way...............LOL

That's a rather cynical view. I would interpret that comment as meaning that the terms of the appeal (which were that LW do in fact meet the terms of the MSC) can be held within that time. From The Grauniad piece, it would appear that LW (and Championship clubs) want to introduce arguments pertaining to the fairness of the rules. I suspect that the panel will be able to rule on the 'meeting the terms of the MSC' point in the time available and it wouldn't surprise me if they hand down some recommendations along the lines that the whole system needs root and branch review. Whatever happens, it won't be finished tomorrow.
