See Thurrock have gone out the blocks by posting a squad for next season, with both Stanley brothers resigned in the centres.
Anybody else got any player moves to announce in Nat 3 se either gains or losses ?

Westcombe have announced their preseason training squad should point out a few more negotiations still occurring listed on our website for all to see
Appears that almost all of last years squad has been retained and a few new guys have arrived to bolster 2 new props a back row and a couple of centres Looks a positive start to the season |

Thurrock have made their new coaching appointment in the forwards, the ex-Wasps prop (can't remember the name, sorry!!).
To be fair to them, good to see the investment in coaching structure and not just throwing money at players. With not much news coming from any of the clubs, it's still very much a guessing game as to who the front runners will be. Back at pre-season is always interesting as first real chance to hear about any recruitment, but I'm very few players or supporters are going to share ...

Not much!
Only one session so far on Tuesday, where I was too busy trying not to vomit rather than ask about any new players. I believe we have a replacement fly-half coming, which is nothing surprising given it's well known last years fly-half is back home in Oz.

Interesting you started last Tuesday. I know Combe started the Tuesday before. Anyone advise when all the other clubs started.
Looks like this thread has stalled a bit whllst waiting for newcomers. Or are clubs trying to stay below radar? Ranger

Would expect Ranger that clubs still feel a little reticent to share news of acquisitions etc. I'm not entirely sure why as not how much difference it makes to opposing teams prep is questionable, especially given there's not a wealth of videos of players online i.e. YouTube unless they have agents (who encourage it).
But I wouldn't share my teams news as not my place to, not really sure what the done thing is for us or coaching teams preferences and don't want a slapped wrist. I would say there are often articles in the Kent papers that are in the public domain so just depends whether people look for this stuff or go on the teams websites and so on to get news releases. We have one position supposedly recruited for that I don't yet know the player brought in, so I'm as interested as everyone else! The researcher/analyst in me has a tendency to do some digging on rivals

Over 50 lads at training for Hertford last two weeks, some were colts and a few keen 3's, 4's and even a 5XV or two. Some new faces.
Still no hard and fast news on who will pull on a Blue shirt for the league start in September. A number of long term injuries are back and a couple of popular lads are off to O£A's. News of 2 NZ lads starting this week - would be the first Kiwi's in the 1XV team that I can think of. Also 2 lads from the Emerald Isle are rumoured to be here and living in the on site bungalow. Looking a bit thin in the front row, still need to see who will be at 9 and 10, time will tell. Edited by Billywindsock - 16 Jul 2012 at 20:43 |

Looks like TJ's have show their hand
Taken from Edenbridge Courier
TONBRIDGE Juddians, who went so close to promotion in their debut National League season, have made moves to make sure they are up for the challenge again. TJs have recruited no fewer than six new players and more are set to follow before the new campaign begins in August. Three of those arrive from New Zealand with Premier League rugby experience – key ahead of what is likely to be a tough National Three season. Kurtis Bandy is a second-rower from Wanderers, prop Brad Tibbitts arrives from Northcote and Gavin Tusini is a top class centre. Importantly, two of the three have British passports, which will be crucial if TJs win promotion next season as they would then only be allowed two overseas players. "It's exciting," coach Steve Farr said. "They are New Zealand Premier League players we picked up via an agent." TJs have also snapped up some quality talent from the UK. Jo Reid, a National One prop at Stourbridge last season, will reinforce the front row, while Ross Oattes is a Scot who has been plying his trade in the French second division. Former Tunbridge Wells youngster John McMahon has moved back to the area from Championshipside Rotherham Titans and TJs have also brought in George Lawson, a Tonbridge School captain who has been part of the Saracens academy. "We had a look at where we were potentially weaker and that was the front five, so we have recruited there," Farr said. "The back row is strong enough – we've got four or five really, really good back rowers. However, Dan Rothnie has left us, so we're looking at a number 10. I'm 99.9 percent certain we've picked one up – a fly-half who has played National One rugby." Tyron Child and Arthur Evans have also left the club, along with Rothnie. |

Hope CA still has a place in the team with all these new signings! Great to see a club at this level making signings from overseas and supporters have to buy a beer from a tent! However there is a nice stream running by the pitch and club officials get really wound up when the opposition go for touch and yet another ball goes in the stream, long may it continue.

You seem to ignore the fact the article states more English players signed than those abroad, plus a huge number of English players, many of whom relatively local who have come to the club for pre-season. The reason the guys from abroad were signed is that they have English passports, so it's evident there's some future planning for if we're lucky enough to be promoted. If not then no issue either way. Re the tent comment, I'm not sure of the relevance. I wouldn't call a proper marquee a tent and it puts you closer to the pitch and it's with a view to hopefully some nice weather on the occasion the club decides to have one. It avoids congestion at the bar and not sure what difference it makes where you get the beer from, good ale is good ale is it not?! If the facilities aren't to your liking then go to clubs at a higher level. And given the club you support, peoples in glass houses shouldn't throw stones ![]() But I completely forgot, your club supposedly doesn't pay players and you didn't have any foreign players last year did you

Not as much as Canterbury's who were offering an eye watering £200 per game to players!!
We don't have the budget people seem to think we have.

At least with some of those signings you should be able to complete 80 minutes of scrummaging in each game eh CA?!
In all seriousness, looks pretty strong additions to a good squad. Whose this mystery 10???????? |

CA, I thought this thread was about Nat3SE signings, aren't Canterbury a league above in National 2 South now! We all know that overseas players don't come cheap and last year and the year before you had players on packages of more than £200 per game! If you were told otherwise then you were lied to!
