watched the game today. what a dreadful performance from England. totally lacked fluency or cohesion. a shocking start to the Championship. I thought France were excellent in defence and clinical In attack. Antoine Dupont looks some player. again though I have to question the selection for England. there was very little in terms of ball-carrying from the back row. when has Courtney Lawes ever been effective in the 6 position?. should've included Dombrandt in the squad. At least gives go-forward. its just the same old story for England. when we don't get over the gainline there seems to be no plan B. I think the French will take some beating now. after beating England their confidence will soar.

Couldn't agree more. Shocking from England.
So much possession in France's 22 but they just went backwards WITH THE BALL, or turned it over.
Surely after so many phases trying to get over the mainline close to the pack, they must realise that that tactic doesn't work against a modern well organised defence.
And Box kick Ben ?Ouch Danny care would be a better option, even now.
England are the best organised, wealthiest, resource richest  Rugby Nation, yet watching yesterday, they can lay claim to the title of most dull and most unimaginative.
Was it Jones' coaching just to keep the ball tight in attack ?  Where was the variety, or a decent plan B if the first attack mode wasn't working.
Ex Jersey and now Scotland No 8 Nick Haining must be really looking forward to next Saturday if England don't pick a specialist Number 8 again.
Come on Jersey........

Well they still haven't picked a no 8 - I cannot understand how you can try to play a forward dominant game without the Vunipola brothers, Tuilagi going off early didn't help either.

The line out was a shambles, not sure why Ewells was in instead of Kruis?

May was one of the few players who impressed, with too many players dropping simple passes.

Genge was impressive when he came on and should start.

I couldn't understand why Dombrandt or Hughes wasn't at least on the bench - it seems Jones doesn't like to admit he was wrong.

Think you are correct Raider. Jones does not like to admit he is wrong and so Curry will play No8 on Saturday. A 2nd Row at 6 and a No7 at 8. Is he serious.
Youngs has to go. It's a sad state of affairs if he his the best scrum half in England

There is no doubt about it that England were awful but these are not new areas where England are terrible but the same problems and one which should have been rectified by now.

Farrell, besides not be a good tackler, is a poor leader when things are not going well.  He had a personal shocker on Sunday but so did his troops.  Is it time for a change, even if it is just to remove some of the pressure of him?

I have thought for a while that Farrell isn't the best captain. maybe it should be given to someone like Itoje who Is in the heart of the battle upfront.

Maybe Eddie should buy him a house?
