Predictions:
Nottingham v London Irish 0-4 Notts can be awkward on their day but LI to do a professional job.
Jersey v Bedford 5-0 - Actually think Jersey will win this fairly comfortably. Jersey too powerful up front for Blues.
Hartpury College v Doncaster 0-4 - Hartpury seem to be really struggling. Donny to grind out another win.
Coventry v Cornish Pirates 4-1 - very close, could go either way.
Ealing v London Scottish 5-0 - Banker home win.
Richmond v Yorkshire Carnegie 1-5 - Carnegie to make it 3 on the trot.

Notts V Irish  0 - 5
Jersey V Bedford 0 - 4
Hartpury v Knights 0 - 5
Coventry v Pirates 1 - 4
Ealing v Scottish 5 - 0
Richmond v Carnegie 0 - 5

Its a week for away teams. Knights to put Hartpury to the sword. Its a shame but I think Hartpury are going to be relegated.
Collective responsibility benefits all

Notts V Irish  4 - 1
Jersey V Bedford 5 - 1 - Jersey's defense were top draw on Saturday. A great bit of play from our no 10 Herron to break up a very even game. A flattering score in the end as Notts played very well at times but they just didn't click (I won't comment on Sir!). Just didn't feed their wingers. Potential for an Irish upset me thinks hence the above IMHO!
Hartpury v Knights 1 - 4
Coventry v Pirates 1 - 4
Ealing v Scottish 5 - 1
Richmond v Carnegie 1 - 5
Jeeeeerseeeeeeey!!!

Notts v Irish 0 - 5 (sorry I think LI will take this one very seriously and not mess with selection hence will be too strong)
Jersey are playing great but so are Bedford that is going to be one heck of an encounter a difficult one to call, potentially home advantage but this could be very tight so I would suggest either a 5 - 2 or a 2 - 5 (not going to be much in it if both stick to current form) so will go with 5 - 2
Hartpury v Knights 0 - 5 Hartpury struggling Donny too but spirits up after last game so going to move the ball about and prevent their (Hartpury) forwards from scoring, whilst stifling their wings.
Coventry v Pirates 0 - 4 another hard one to call but fortress Butts Park has a few cracks in it now
Ealing v Scottish 5 - 0 can't see this going any other way
Richmond v Carnegie (Leeds) 2 - 3 (what the heck in for a penny in for the pound)

Onward and Upwards C'mon Donny!

Notts V Irish  4 - 1 - Nottingham are very tough at Lady Bay. Just ask Ealing, who have never beat them there.
Jersey V Bedford 5 - 2 - Home advantage for the Islanders will be hard to overcome, but Bedford will be riding a high after the win over Ealing to create a very close fought match.
Hartpury v Knights 4 - 1 - Funny feeling on this one that the Knights could have a let down against a team that sees this as a must-win game.
Coventry v Pirates 4 - 1 - Coventry very tough at home, and Pirates might be smarting after that loss to Leeds.
Ealing v Scottish 5 - 0 - Ealing will look at this as a statement game, and I think that they come out angry, and hungry against a very familiar Scottish side.
Richmond v Leeds 1 - 4 - Richmond keep it close, but Leeds form improving week on week as their new players gel.

Coventry          1 - 4       Cornish Pirates - Close call, would not be surprised if Cov won

Ealing            5 - 0       London Scottish - Home banker

Hartpury          4 - 1       Doncaster - Hartpury to edge a very tight encounter

Jersey            4 - 1       Bedford - Very very close . . match of the weekend

Nottingham        1 - 5       London Irish - Irish starting to see the finish line

Richmond          4 - 1       YC - A real battle, YC with new recruits and Richmond picking up injuries . . but I have a feeling Richmond might shade this.

Run with it

Irish looked very competent last week. Their line out and rolling maul were like clockwork. So if they get a penalty and kick for the corner their chances of scoring are very high.

That's how Jersey beat them Pappashanga. Our discipline was first class and we didn't give them that opportunity. Don't get me wrong, they are very good with ball in hand, but prefer to play inside rather than out wide. Therefore, if you have a solid defence you cut down their scoring opportunities.
Strange really, as their back line look really dangerous, they are just not allowed to play an expansive game (or weren't against us anyway).

There is also the home ground factor. All that noise and the cavernous empty seats in Reading are an intimidating factor. If Jersey were also efficient this would nullify the line out advantage. Richmond weren't particularly efficient at the line out and threw away several opportunities which LI would have converted. That is where being full time pays off-you can drill the basics till the cows come home.
I can see why Jersey beat them. They only seem to play expansively once they get ahead, which is a confidence thing.

Friday 18th January:
Nottingham 4-1 London Irish -If Notts use Varndell and attack the wide channels they can win this one at home - if they play a tight match they will probably be mauled!

Saturday 19th January:
Jersey 5-2 Bedford -Should be a cracker and could go either way - loads of tries surely.
Hartpury 2-2 Donny I can't split these so I go for a draw although 4-1 either way more likely
Coventry 4-1 Pirates - A close match and I just think the home side will edge it by a handful of points
Ealing 5-0 London Scottish -Surely ET will go all out to win this one. Scottish a solid defence but should be outgunned in this one
Mond 4-1 Yorkies Two solid teams playing well but home advantage to give Mond the win by a handful of points.

Dont kick it. Pick it up and GO FORWARD.
