... for one club in the Nat Leagues (Levels 1-4) than Ross Winney of Macclesfield? I make him around 1550 to date.

All-time stats aren't that easy to find, and no longer feature in the RFU yearbook. An old copy says Jon Gregory of Esher scored 1609 from '98-'04 so perhaps he holds the yellow jersey?

Anyone else challenging the above?

Winney also a challenger for all-time top scorer in their career (ie for all the clubs they've represented in Nat Leagues). He also played for Sale, Orrell, Plymouth and Wakefield, and Statbunker gives him as 1901 pts to date (and 30-years-old so hardly at the fag-end of his career). Neil Hallett (Rosslyn Pk, Bracknell, Esher and now Ealing) is listed as 2153 (and 32-y-o) by the same source, but not sure whether there are other around the 2000 mark or not - it's a lot of kicks. Wondered about Jersey's DoR Ben Harvey (Mond, Brizzle, Wuss, Mose, Stour and Bees) but Statbunker only gives him 1437.

Info on this second category also welcomed...

Not saying he has the most, but Charlie Hodgson certainly has more points than either of the names you mention - 1870 in GP / AP competition for Sale Sharks assuming their official site is correct:

Stat bunker doesn't want to work for me at the moment (and I'm not sure I could be bothered to work the right answer out anyway!) but Tony Yapp might well be able to challenge the above during his time playing for a successful Exeter side playing in a 16 team league.

All the names mentioned are worthy of great praise.

I always find Statbunker seems to be a season or two behind in some of its stats, which is very frustrating when you want some info.

It may be the info is not being supplied to them.

But they could get the names of the level 5 leagues right by now surely...

Hammer,

I can't vouch for level 5 but Nat 1 & 2 data on Statbunker is certainly current. It remains the only real searchable online source for 'senior' rugby. RR is good as a reporting tool but isn't searchable. That's not to say that data on either is always completely accurate - but that is often caused by mistakes on the match report sheets filled in by the home clubs. I occasionally send in corrections to Stephen McCormack & Mike Kind and they're always thankful and responsive.

Thanks, Allan, and I don't contest what you say but I have found just recently that looking for players' records for people who have been playing all this season at least, they sometimes simply don't figure at all or the details available are not up to date for this or even last season.

We do (frequently at our level) send in corrections to RR and they do seem to get acted upon as you say.

But Statbunker - still using Midlands One, North One etc for goodness sake...
