I'd fogotten about him.

He'll be slightly happy that he now doesn't have to visit London Welsh, with our outside toilets and terrible media facilities.

Have Newcastle ever played LW at ODP? I thought the two clubs' paths had only crossed for one season, when Welsh were last in the Prem and were based in Oxford.

I'm fairly sure I've seen a Newcastle play at ODP.

I don't think you have.  We've only played a league match against them in the Premiership, and never in the cup.  I'm not even aware of us playing Gosforth in the amateur era.

According to Wikipedia, in 1987/8 and 88/9 Gosforth and Welsh were both in Courage League 2, but there was 1 league match either home or away. So they may have played at the New Ground on the Great North Road.

Oh well, I thought I had.
Maybe it's an excuse to go through my old programmes.
I found one the other day when we played Bristol at ODP.
Bristol had a prop called Mako Vunipola and the referee was Mathieu Raynal.
