Things could get interesting next season if Worcester fall through the trapdoor again in May.  As one of their fans said over on their Rugby Network site: "The club is up for sale, the coach is on his way out, we can't buy a point in the league, the attendances are dropping. What reason do players have to stay and fight - other than to secure a move to another team."

I know it's a long way off yet, but if they come down again you can see them struggling under the circumstances they currently find themselves in - and that creates a potential problem for those teams in the top four of the Championship who don't really want promotion.  Obviously our own experience shows what can happen if you go up when you're not prepared, and it could be a very difficult decision for the likes of Doncaster or Ealing (just to name a couple - not dismissing anyone else!) if there's a genuine prospect of promotion.

I had to laugh when I saw player welfare was being used as the latest reason to ring fence the Premiership.

10 month seasons and trips to the USA, the best way way to protect the player from overplaying is to introduce two new games into the season.

If there is logic there, then I'm missing it!

Logic and running professional rugby?  Does not compute.
