Errrrmmmm Doesn't it make your heart bleed ( or your blood boil) to hear that that Plymouth were struggling to field a side, due to the Anglo-Welsh cup final?  <<<<rhetorical question

I was under the impression that it was Exeter who were playing in the aforementioned final
Silly me!  LOL

Why would it make your blood boil? They have had loads of injuries this season, and have had to rely on dr from Exeter. Why does this bother you? Let them get on with it.

This is why it bothers me ......

All clubs get injuries (it's a tough game)
Do they not have a 2XV?
Maybe this is the way it is, right now, but it doesn't mean I have to like it Confused

Think the 2nd team went during last season when they were in the championship. Couldn’t afford to run two teams, think the majority of the 2nd team was farmed out to lower leagues for game time, then recalled when needed, if I remember rightly.

As I recall they couldn't afford to run 1 side - but that's another well documented story

Don’t think many teams can in the championship unless you have a great deal of money. Think some teams are better off not going up. Can totally cripple clubs. Anyway like you said that’s another story. Been a very competitive season in division 1, and all clubs have done their supporters proud. Coventry will do well next season, taken a while but great to see them back up again.

No they couldn’t Raider999, the squad at the time were all professional and getting paid good money, think one player said that few of the players thought they were bigger than the club. On paper they were good enough to be in top 5, but reality they got relegated. Then all the players apart from a very small few left. Never mind.

Can anyone recall the Bristol setup pre-pro rugby whereby they used local clubs as a backup for match days?
