Just trying to guage if other RMers were planning on going to this game and what they intend to do now. As with I suspect most, we did not have a package so other than match ticket refund we cannot get refunds on flights, trains, hotels etc. Decsion now is whether to go (as we did in 2001 to Dublin) or just cut losses and hope they restrict travel to Northern Italy (we are due to fly into Bologna and travel to Rome by train on match day) so we can claim on insurance. Anyone else thinking of still going? Unlike Dublin in 2001 I suspect it will be mutch quieter with many places closed/desserted.

My (much) better half booked a trip with an outfit called Living with the Lions, as a big birthday present (big birthday). They're a decent company - I have travelled to South Africa with them in the past.
Right now, we're waiting to hear from them. When things first started to look iffy we hoped the game would be postponed, Rome in April-May sounded good. If we had booked everything independently, we'd still be spending a long weekend in Rome. |

We`ve booked flights to Naples on 11th - train to Rome 13th, back to Naples 16th.All flights, hotels & trains booked independently. If HM Govt. don`t ban Italy as a destination, we won`t get a penny back, so intending to go and just miss out on the rugby!

See the news now says Italy v England games for the men, women and U20 are all postponed now. Not sure when they will get to reschedule these games as well as Ireland v Italy, back in 2001 Ireland had to complete the games in September and October when there was room to put them in!

So we were flying Bologna on the 13th, doing the same, train in to Rome, interesting that Ryanair (our operator) is planning to cancel all flights to Italy from the 16th why not now? We are due back on the 16th? Something stinks??? Managed to cancel hotel, not sure if we get the ticket money back if they reschedule, but will deffo lose the Flight money.

I wouldn't be surprised if they games ended up in the Autumn.. Government needs to pull its finger out and ban travel to Italy, then hopefully most can get their money back on insurance. Ireland offered refunds to those with match tickets - hopefully Italy will do the same. |

The airlines are cancelling a lot of flights later in the month - pure economics, as nobody is booking flights to places like Italy, nothing to do with passenger welfare. |

If France do enough in the last two games to be champions anyway I wonder if they will not bother to re-arranged the cancelled games? They could always pay some sort of compensation to Italy and Ireland.

I booked my flights last April, hotel and tickets in June. Unfortunately my wife and the other couple who were due to go with us, all work in a Care home for people with disabilities so didn't wish to take the chance of passing anything on to vulnerable unfortunate people. I have tried KLM, the hotel direct and via the hotel booking company today. I haven't bothered with the ticket refund as a postponement they will still be valid whenever it is played. So far to date to no avail as I've no doubt they have thousands of people in the same position and we'll be well down the pecking order. As a last resort I have tried also the credit card company in the hope that I'll be able to claim for a refund under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act on my credit card. Worth a try!
As previously stated we all need the FCO to say it's a no go then we can claim on our travel insurance Further update I have rung the travel insurance who have registered my claim but have said must try Credit card company 1st. KLM have offered me a voucher valid for a year to pay only difference in fare for rearranging flight. Hotel have offered to allow rebooking up to 30/4. I have contacted CC company who. have registered also claim but atm no one wants to put their hand and pay out. My Advice is get claims in with everybody before it's too late. I'm going to other CC company about tickets. Will have to see how it goes from there.

Thanks everyone. Couple of the blokes I was going with employers have added self isolation restrictions greater than gov advice so its a no goer for them, meaning we have decided not to go. Lost flights, one night hotel, train and airport parking unless we there are greater restrictions placed between now and next Thursday. Lesson in future is pay that bit more for flexible/cancellable tickets in the future! Now just hoping Mhazelnutille in May not similarly afflicted.

Written in today's papers that government are thinking of restricting all mass gatherings to 500 people. Not sure if this would be Country wide or just in certain areas. Only 1 confirmed case in Cornwall at the moment.

No crowd at all at the moment, and as Italy is now showing (small) infection increases again very unlikely I should think

I have just seen confirmation that all outstanding 6 Nations games will be played without a crowd.
As such I have emailed my ticket supplier asking for an immediate refund. |

Has anyone managed to get a refund of their tickets?
If so where did they purchase the ticket from. I am getting fed-up being told 'we invite you to be patient' some 7 months after the original date of the game. |

Finding it a bit difficult to start a new post.
Sunday Times experts have team of 6 Nations 18 France 14 England 4Ireland 7 Scotland and 2 Wales. I find Jones Barnes and Dalligho totally useless. Plenty of Ireland Scotland and Wales players stood out against French and English
