Strictly speaking, it's a try bonus, not a losing one.

When I first saw the Fixtures I was worried about having two away matches just before Christmas But given Esher's away form, I'm now looking forward to matches at Chinnor and Plymouth, both banker wins for us!!Wink

I wouldn't get too carried away. Sale gifted you 21 points - 2 interceptions and an overthrown line out. Not a hand laid on the Esher player in all 3 tries.

I have to say the defensive qualities of most of the teams I've seen this season are sadly lacking. 12 tries I think in this game - I lost count. Esher were twice 21 points in front and were hanging on grimly in the last minute.

Normally it’s Esher giving away the interceptvyries. Thanks to Sale for addressing the balance! Don’t worry, I’m not getting carried away, I expect we will lose to Luffbra next week at home!

Chinnor's result goes to the last play for the 12th consecutive week. Probably some kind of record.....

We have lost to the bottom two. Expect us to win at Blackheath and lose to Esher, with both being decided by last minute scores or heroic defence at the end !

Squeaky bottoms time at Loughborough University today.

Awesome try fest, although Christmas came early for Chinnor when Students gifted them 2 tries.

Chinnor always looked dangerous with the ball. LS didn’t do themselves any favours when attacking and spilling the ball when a player was passed the ball but seemingly showed more concern for the crunching tackle that was coming his way than controlling the ball.

Many (of few) LS supporters thought it poor form when a Chinnor official seemingly encourage the ref to YC a LS late in the the 2nd half. Same people were also gobsmacked at the lack of action taken against a Chinnor player for a tip tackle also late in the 2nd half.

Shouldn’t criticise the match officials but there were many curious decisions starting with some very pedantic hasty decisions at the the start. We also thought the ref was going to lose authority early on with the spats of niggling that erupted between the packs early on.

With scoreline unbearably close, the joy around LS ranks was clear to see when Loughborough University old boy Craig Holland missed a drop goal around the 80th minute that would have seen Students lose 49 - 46. The sense of loss was also very clear on Chinnor faces.

Well done to both sides, awesome attacking rugby.

Great result boys 48 - 46. Keep up the good work and cut the penalties out!

Well Yorkie if you had been at Bishopst oday you would have seen a masterclass in defence from both sides with BS keeping the ball for 4 minutes going from side to side but being met by a solid defensive wall for the final passage of play where a penalty or drop goal would have won it for the home team but neither was conceded.

Top result from club today, grinding out results, wining is a great habit. Back to to the big time for club methinks. Where’s my honorary tie.

All the best

It’s in the post ST. Was a good result today we didn’t play that well but found something when it mattered. Continuos improvement is what we are after and see where it takes us. We have a great set of lads this year who are fully behind the coaches and systems and it’s working at the moment

Rabbie

Nah mate, I really do have one, It’s in my wardrobe on the tie rack full of gravy stains. It reminds me of severe bad memories in the league (Not in the cup)

Back to the thread, Why not club. Let’s elevate a great club into the biggest rugby no where land, The Championship.

For Sedge: Been there done that.

Happy days ( It Was)

All the best

I think I heard one of our high ranking officials say “ I would love to win the league but don’t fancy watching Championship rugby” which I think sums it up well. Not enough games meaningless cup competition, Friday nights and Sunday afternoons no thanks. One team with 3 times the funding than the rest what’s not to want 😜The championship needs to become desirable again at the moment it’s not other than status

What's going on at Darlington. Obviously something not right behind the scenes.

It's been a long time since you raised your head Timbo. People who watch rugby regularly recognise that DMP lost today because
a) they are still recovering from a big injury list, (Plus Georgu injured himself in the warm up and Warren played with a hamstring strain sustained in the warm up) leaving us with no back replacements on the bench
B) DMP performed badly - It happens
C) More importantly Cambridge played very well and deserved to win.
To be honest uninformed comments like that are best kept to yourself. 😡😡

Cambridge have had some cracking away results to date. They beat us at the Lane and also won at Ampthill.

I love this league.

Was talking to my friend earlier and this league is great. Far better than the Championship, better structured and very even. Anybody can beat anybody.

We have three nice little games coming up before the Christmas break:

8th Dec - Bishops Stortford away.

15th Dec Blackheath at home
22nd Dec - Darlington at home

If we’d still been in the Championship we’d be about half way through a 6 week period without a meaningful game.

National 1 - the essence of club Rugby.
