Well Old Priorians are rescheduling their game against Letchworth tomorrow. We tried a number of synthetic options including Rosslyn Park and Shelford ( all who were very helpful) but nothing happening in the end. Will just have to record Eng v Ire

Big matches all round in L1S this weekend, but none bigger than the battle at the top between CS and Medway - I note that the London Society have appointed a team of 3 to this one. A few other key games at the bottom too!

How did that occur or is it at the society's descretion?

It's at the society's discretion.  There was talk of it happening for the potential promotion decider in Herts/ Middlesex 1 last Saturday, but given that one of the protagonists has dropped off the boil in recent weeks I'm not sure they'll bother to do it for the rearranged meeting next weekend.

I'd like to request if for every game we play in some parts east of London. Player abuse from the touch line is unreal at 2 or 3 clubs.

If you want more To3 appointed, get volunteering. Most societies could do with more qualified refs available and if they ever had too many some could end up running the line.

I don't think the team of 3 are there to sort out the player abuse from the touchline..more what happens on the pitch? Or have I missed something?

My Money is on  CS Rugby vs Medway..

Tough game for Havant who have Cobham

Maidstone to get 5 points this weekLOL
Totts to gift Gravesend 5 ..
I still think Havant are the best team i have seen this season.

Some are qualified refs who do run the line at their clubs but can't progress into specialising as an AR because most societies want referees at level 8 (I think?) before allowing them on the ARs course. If the societies remove those restrictions, they will have more specialist ARs around which will allow for more 3 team appointments and free up referees for other matches.

Some big games all round.

Fancy CS to just get the better of Medway. I just think CS have the extra "spark" as it were that Medway don't (obviously still a very good side though).

Havant need a 5 pointer ideally to keep the pressure on the chase for 2nd place. Especially if Medway fail to pick anything up at CS.

Maidstone with the bit between their teeth after 2 wins on the bounce. Cornish have hit some bad form but do look to have done enough to stay up this year. If Stones win, they may just fancy themselves to catch up Thurrock and Colfes...
The last game of the season between Maidstone and Colfes could be a winner takes all affair to stay up.

It's all getting very tasty...

Lets just say that we were delighted with our last gasp win at Maidstone, especially since we went in with an injury list of an incredible 24 players this weekend!

They don't make those Cornish men as tough as they used to.Tongue

Think Cornish & Totts are safe now it is a shame that anyone has to go down this season because from what i have seen it is a very competitive league  top one or 2 are the exception & that is what we all want to see.

What an interesting 5 weeks or so this will be.

Gravesend are gone.
Maidstone will still believe they can stay up but basically need 3 wins from 5 without Colfes and Thurrock getting any. I'm sure they are targeting Chobham, Brighton and then the potential decider against Colfes last week. I don't see them springing a surprise against Medway or Chichester, especially as I hear that more players are "moving away".

If Thurrock could beat Colfes next week and maybe pick up something at Totts, Chobham or both then that would see them safe I think.

Colfes probably have the easiest run in (no easy games in this league though this season). Same as Above, if they beat Thurrock and get maybe one or two more they will probably survive.

I think both Sevenoaks and Chobham fancy one more win to make themselves feel a bit more "comfortable".

Can I just say however, how competitive the league has been this year.

Last year, we had Dover and Gosport getting regular humpings but this year. With the odd exception due to mass injury or unavailability every team has been competitive.

Well someone has to join Gravesend and Maidstone. Thurrock have a nasty looking run in with Havant, CS, Totts and Cobham, which means their game with OC's this weekend is key. I think they have to win that. I reckon 50 points might be enough, but I would like another win just to be sure!

Interestingly i can see Old Colfes winning 3 out of their last 5.

But Thurrock i can only see them winning 2 at best.

So it may turn out to be decided on Bonus points..
