Difficult from the sidelines to be fair as you are mostly either too far away if decisions are made on the other side of the pitch or at the wrong angle even if its on your near side. He appeared to be very decisive but as a result blew quickly and didn't play advantage as much as he could and/or should have done, Thought he had a better first half than second half where he appeared to blow his whistle a lot more. I decided to cross the pitch second half and was actually right in line with the pass he deemed forward when we had that three man overlap and were certain to score at what could have but didn't turn out to be a crucial decision affecting the result. But these things happen and as many posters on here have said, without a ref there's no game. Definitely nowhere near the worst ref I've seen so far this season so relatively happy. He spoke very highly of your club when I spoke to him. I guess from the question you may differ

looks inconclusive to me from this recording.
I must say though the ref was in a great position to make his decision

I have to agree with Truwblue, what a nightmare call to have to make and what ever his decision 50% of the support will have disagreed!

Sir Q & Ranger

Even i thought at the time it was not a forward pass but the ref was much closer than i thought he was ( i thought he was 25 yards behind the ball )

What about the Totts quick free kick that was held up can we see that...  & do you think we can see how the No8 got injured as he was asking me last night what happened ?

Or can i have a copy /link to the video as it is probably his last game.

When you look at it he has probably done that 1000 times in the last 10 years.  Just competing for the ball spun as they collided and landed awkwardly nothing more than that to be honest..

Looked very Innocuous to be honest after they had been battering each other for 80 mins..

If you freeze the video and look at where the passing player released the ball and then look at where the player caught it, you can clearly see it was a forward pass.

The only side I'm yet to see this season is Camberley. They keep talking about their "Flying Fijian" in their reports. Is he really that good? They don't seem to struggle to score points but are they going to struggle when they play a top 5 side? The only one they have played so far is Brighton and they lost. Thoughts?

The referee must judge a forward pass purely on the passing action of the passer and not be influenced by the movement of the ball relative to the ground. An object in motion stays in motion according to Newton and as such would explain why the ball was caught in advance of the passer, If you freeze frame, you can see the passers hand movement and a backwards movement is evident.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=box08lq9ylg explains better than I can

All said and done, Westcombe Ranger (as honest a bloke as you'll ever meet) was at the game and dead level with the pass and advises that it definitely wasn't forward, and that's good enough for me.

Surprised no one has mentioned the entire back line offside as the ball came out.
Impossible to tell if forward or not.

Assume the ref enjoyed post match pint and pie :-)

interestingly Medway are in a similar position, only have played Sevenoaks from their 4 chasers and by the 8th December the top may look totally different!

So with 4 games left until the half way point, the top 5 have still to play of each other!

Medway still have 3 to play
Brighton have 1 to play
Camberley still have 3 to play
Sevenoaks have 1 to play
Westcombe Park have 2 to play!!

So have been on U tube, came across this as a suggestion and thought it may be of interest to the golfers on here. A few of the participants were in attendance at Totties on Saturday. .

Kentishman
When we played camberley at their place they ripped us to bits in the first half, leading 47-0 !! and the Fijian looked very good, and was expecting more of the same in the second half but we managed to put 26 points past them in the second half with the final score being 54-26!
They have got pots of money and are my pick to be up there at the end of the season but they do have a question mark about their 80 minute performance..maybe they need to throw some more cash around to buy some more Fijians!๐Ÿ˜‚

Think this is going down to the last three weekends of the season, fag paper between the top three. Also Chi, Havant and Hove are all starting to get a bit of form. Loads of rugby, beers and a few road/rail trips on the horizon.

So basically you beat them 26 - 7 in the 2nd half. You must have been doing something right!

Going to be significantly closer than any previous season.

Hove are dead ducks but there is only then one win between second bottom and eighth.

Next few weeks at the top could really create a top two, or make things even tighter. It Medway can win all three against WP, Camberley, and Brighton then theyโ€™ll push out on their own, if they lose one or two then it becomes even tighter. Ditto Camberley with all three of their games.

I can see Brighton turning Medway over, but Medway will beat Combe and Camberley, who will also lose to Sevenoaks but beat Combe. Simples really. So after everyone has played each other, Brighton will be top, followed by Medway, Sevenoaks and Camberley in that order.
