Indeed Robb, and for the second successive year the Kent Cup final will be between Sidcup and Old Elthamians. Elthamians will be restricted from playing their first team players who have appeared in more than a certain number of games within a certain period leading up to the final. Not sure exactly what the criteria is, but sure someone may know. Last season Sidcup won an extremely hard fought game by a small margin.Anyway, back on track to later today, I am looking forward to my 2nd visit to Chichester and hopefully meeting up with Chi participants on this forum. I shall be wearing a stripy blazer.

WR for teams in Nat 1 it was no player who has started for the first team in the previous 5 games can playin the Kent Cup, May well be the same for Nat 2 but not sure

Robb
As I said " it could've possibly worked THIS season (London 1 south) for the kent teams..Darts,Medway, Sevenoaks & Westcombe park
But it's not a great format to abide by as I alluded to by giving Hampshire as a prime example next year of it not working at all!
With 44 clubs affiliated to Hampshire RFU I'm sure some workable system could be achieved involving ALL of the clubs as opposed to the tiered cup, plate, bowl system at present

Would your blazer be a navy stripe one or more a royal blue and yellow?

Insight is a wonderful thing, especially if you have it before the event

Cry Good luck for next season all ( apart from Havant Tongue)

Chobham we will see you next year !

Rugby has been the winner this year probably the best i have seen in LS1 since Totts came up. Unfortunately someone has to go up and someone has to go down no point playing otherwise. #

Best wishes from myself & Totts.

Thanks Gareth
I wish Totts all the best in your March to Hampshire Premier🤣🤣
Great game at hooks lane yesterday against Medway, a superb drop goal from Joel knight being the deciding factor between two evenly matched team's oh and a few crazy decisions by the ref😬
I'm bored already...can't wait for the new season to start!!

Firstly congratulations to 7Oaks on a splendid campaign. Best of luck next season and also to Brighton in the play-offs.
To Havant Tony Cannon and Vuarnet - was good to meet up with fellow maulers. Yesterday's double header ended up a draw with my stripey deckchair (without a tint of yellow thank you Janner 100) putting the plain of Vuarnet into the shade, only for Chi to stripe Combe at the death in a feast of running rugby of a game.
.
Enjoyed my trips to new venues and look forward to next season.

Will certainly miss our trips to Oaks, Totts and Chobham next season, who have been regular oppo
for a series of great matches/post matches in recent seasons.

Well done to the Mighty Oaks , wish you well for next season, you have certainly displayed the skills and tenacity to cut it in the league above.
Good luck to Brighton on their trek to Colchester, its a tough ask to win away from home in these play offs but your result yesterday should give you a boost but Colchester are only 2 seasons out of National 3 so I am sure will have retained staff from that period. I will watch out for the result with interest.
Yesterday was lost in the fog of trying to drink the bar dry and losing, also lost my sense of balance as a consequence, sure it was quite unrelated but it was good to meet Westcombe Ranger before it got messy.

Looking forwards to September when it all starts over again....

Best, Vuarnet

Well done Sevenoaks and best of luck to Brighton next week.

We’ll miss you too Dickon, sadly sounds like Rich Fisher will be gracing us pitchside a little more often with a glass of Mighty in his hand.

Next season we meet three new clubs with Totts, hopefully see you all soon.

What a season and what a league to have been a part of.  Saturday was very special indeed.  It’s been an incredible year for our Club and is the result of a lot of hard work over the past three years.  They say ‘defence wins titles’ and if you look at our points conceded column, it reflects that statement.

Sounded like a hell of a game at Camberley too – having seen the footage of the last try, it looked very dramatic.  I did say after we won at Havant that I thought other teams would become unstuck there and so it proved – out of the top 4, only we won there….and that was by THE SKIN OF OUR TEETH!  Certainly played a part in the final league shake up.

I know there has been a lot of talk on here about 2nd teams etc.  We found out last night that we’d also clinched the 2nd XV league, which follows on from the 1st and 3rd XV’s winning their leagues.  Each Club has their model which works for them, but I truly believe that you must build a squad to have success.  We have worked incredibly hard to create an environment which aims at providing all players with support.  We have a Squad – not a 1s/2s and 3s….a Squad and every player has played a role in all of those achievements.  I think Sidcup have done the same – they won the 1st and 2nd XV leagues two seasons ago and did the same with the 2nd XV league last year.  I don’t think it’s any coincidence that the top four teams all have strong squads and invest time and energy into their 2nd XV’s.  You simply cannot rely on a group of 18 or 20 players….you have to have 30+ that are ready to play at 1st XV level such is the level of physicality and that means they can’t just be good rugby players, but more importantly they are comfortable in the environment, know all the playbook etc.  My thoughts anyway.

The standard of London 1 South continues to go up year on year.  Will certainly be keeping an eye out each week to see who is in the shake-up and we have really enjoyed our battles with each Club – there really hasn’t been an ‘easy’ game and I’d like to think we’ve always stuck around for a beer after, which is what it is all about.

Huge challenges ahead and work has already begun for next season (our Head Coach never stops!)

Best of luck to Brighton in the play-off – a few of us are going along to support I think, so really hope they can do the business.

Wishing you all a restful summer (apart from any coaches who I know will be working on next season already!).

H20
