Good luck with Kyle Coulter. He's had more clubs than Tiger Woods and loves a red card.

Only three more sleeps! Lovely bit of damp to help the greensward and the weekend beckons cool and bright, should be a weekend to test the legs, hearts and minds of players, coaches and supporters alike!

As always rumour abounds but as Dickon says contend for the top spot you will need a 25% improvement as the chasing pack will have raised their game by 10%, fair comment. On that thought Westcombe should win at a canter but looking at the other contenders it could go to any of the following, Medway, Camberley, Havant, or indeed London Cornish with some canny recruitment (sorry Cornish Simon). Who will go down? Durned if I know, too many permutations for my tiny mind, but I am looking forward to introducing our visitors to the best chef (probably) in the league ! Big welcome to all the newcomers though judging by their comments and preperation they look like they will spring some suprises, hopefully not this week-end!

Wishing everyone a fest of rugby and you all get the result you are wishing for.

Best, Vuarnet

Real shame that money is being paid at this level and clubs like WP should be ashamed of themselves. As soon as the Premiership is ring fenced they will find out the hard way.

A new season beckons and the old digs from you are resurrected. What the hell the premiership has to do with us I don't know. You obviously have a hatred towards Combe judging by all your past posts.Am sure that you are not only boring me but all the rest of the regular level 6 posters, who probably have no opinion or interest in what you have to say. Other Combe posters have invited you to meet up and discuss but you have declined, so why don't you retreat to under the bridge of Trolls somewhere in Blackfen.

And recently booted out of Wimbledon in the pre season due to a bust up.

Ranger, the money spent on your 1st team is a concern to the game. We can all foresee the issues that will occur once the money runs dry. Perhaps more focus should be on the junior section (the heart of any good rugby club) as I see from the website that the U14 squad have all left the club. So sad!!!

Very easy to jump on a bandwagon without knowing the full story of events.

Well said MoreClubsThanTiger. I think this is quite true and should be noted by a number of posters on here.

It is quite obvious there are 2 types of regular users of this site, those who have a genuine interest in rugby and what is happening at this level, and those who are just here to troll specific teams and people.

Those people normally have a personal reason why they feel they need to do this, most likely as they feel they should be doing a job being done by someone else, their view is different from those running the club, or they just find it easier to hide behind an anonymous tag on this site.

I find it tedious and boring. The end of the season is where you see if a plan has worked, not at the beginning.

Lets get back to rugby and our proof that we are all blinkered and its too early to predict the games!!

Chichester 4-1 Horsham - I think Horsham will make Chi work for their result.
Cobham 1-5 Thurrock - Thurrock will carry on as they finished last season.
H.A.C. 0-5 Camberley - HAC are in for a shock!!
KCS 1-5 Westcombe Park - Parks power will stun Kings winning run.
Medway 5-0 Dartfordians - The Kent battle will go the way of the home team.
Belsize Park 1-4 Beckenham - A tight win for Becks.
London Cornish 1-5 Havant - Following last weeks SpyGate, Havant will leave South London with the W!!

Have a good season all.

Money is the only answer if you want to watch WP play rugby. Go back to basics and make something of your club. How can you get excited every Saturday when you know that the players you have are all journey men. At your peril watch your demise! The so called troll has never frequented Blackfen!

Havant in for promotion this year, TONY?

Camberley's Rise from Surrey 1 in so few seasons was very special and though some changes with players coming and going this season their strong game plan with expansive plays will keep them in the top three throughout 2019/20. Defence in the backs seemed to be a problem area last season and when the ten kept his head he played quick backs easily through most defences minus Sevenoaks and that second half vs Brighton. The team this season or maybe next.

Havant had arguably the strongest pack last season and a back line that needs only a bit more creativity for a top three finish. Perhaps they can overcome the tough away days.

You see WP is not well regarded by many here though anyone who watched them on their day last year will pay testimony to how expansive they can play. Having played them it seams they just can’t string anything together in the last 30minutes. Three more big ball carriers are needed in this team, and with the rest of the team take advantage of a promising 10.

Of the top four, Medway slipped on the most banana skins in the final games last season and fine margins vs Brighton Camberley and Havant could so easily have played to them with promotion. They’ll be top three if the squad remains relatively unchanged.

Thurrock have an impressive kicker and if they can utilise some fast outside backs and avoid long looping intercept passes they will likely take the scalp of most teams outside the top three.

This is my pick!

Good luck everyone!

Rugby70

I agree with you entirely and I do hope the heads not to sore this morning.

I actually think you should make sure you tell all the club's who have disgraced themselves by having the audacity to run their clubs differently to your own.
So if you could let any club in the south east who have ever paid a player, provided employment, travel, gym membership, accommodation etc etc that you think they're a disgrace that would be really helpful. Once the south east has been completed maybe you could do the whole country.

And please do let us all know how you get on

Sir-Q
Don't mention the "P" word !!
As you know we have missed out by a gnats nuts on two occasions and probably would've made it last year but for or "mare" of a start to the campaign

So here we go again, this is a tough league to get out of and the men from hooks lane are definitely up for the challenge and will give it their all as usual
Looking forward to visiting the new grounds and the usual suspects..good luck to ALL

Over the last few seasons, Havant have always been the bridesmaids of the league. I hope this year, they finally get the promotion they've been fighting for.
