Long time lurker, first time poster.

The most impressive side I have seen this season has been CS. Looked powerful and skillful on both occasions I have seen them.
Medway, whilst maybe lacking the superstars other teams have are a very, very well drilled and tight side who have been together for a long time now which is proving the difference and they rightly sit top of the league.

The mid table appear able to beat each other at will, and you would think that if any of the likes of Totts, Cornish, Cobham or 7oaks could recruit in a couple of key positions, then top 4 may loom for them next year.

It would appear that both Maidstone and Gravesend are doomed. I just don't think they can pick up the points to get out of the bottom 3. It's going to be a battle between Colfes and Thurrock for the last spot but with Chobham keeping an eye over their shoulder.

Oddly, I think Maidstone are a stronger side than what they had last year. They haven't been blown away in games like Gravesend have and have pushed some of the top sides very close.
They have a strong forward pack but seemingly lack any cutting edge in the backs.
When they came into the league 3 years ago, a lot was made of their desire to push on and they finished a credible 6th. But last year they narrowly avoided the drop, mostly due to their being 3 worse sides than them really. This year however, there aren't any Dovers or Gosports. Everyone else has moved on, yet they have stayed still. And now they find themselves looking at Level 7 again with two Level 5 clubs on their door steps in Medway and T Wells.

Rumour has it not all is right off the pitch either. Whilst I'm one to usually take these things with a pinch of salt I think there is some truth to the rumours as apparently several players have left including their very good hooker (former Westcombe Park chap I believe) who has gone over to Tunbridge Wells (or so I am told).
And checking their website today, their long standing captain has stood down sighting "personal and work" reasons. I'm sure if everything is right off the pitch, then those problems don't cause a captain to resign mid way through a campaign. It's a shame, from what I saw of him he was a cracking leader and the side played very differently when he wasn't on the pitch.

Watched Maidstone last week & the pack was solid but you are right no penetration from the backs.

Colfes were also solid yesterday did not panic going 12 down early on, worked their way back in to the game with some great Penalty's & took the one chance they had in the first half very well to score.
They went further ahead & looked comfortable until one was yellow carded. Totts came back in to the game and it was 34-29 with 10 to go Totts had them on the ropes. They again did not panic & good game management saw them through.
I do not see them going down to be honest.

Totts on the other hand started well like we seem to most matches but ended up chasing the game because of 2-3 mistakes. We seem to give the ball away to cheaply in our own 22 too often.

I was impressed by Colfes when I saw them. Massive pack and a decentish back line that was only needing a bit of time at this level to start clicking.

Totts confuse me a bit. One week seem to be world beaters. The next, they struggle. But a good bunch both on and off the pitch and if they could stick together a good run, I think could regularly break into the top 4.

Well i watch Totts every week and they just totally confuse me !.

They know how they want to play & when it comes off they are fantastic.

Unfortunately most teams now know how to play against them & they need to play a more controlled managed game sometimes.. I see some good game management most week's  but it is not for 80 mins.

Running the ball out of the 22 in the first 20 mins of the game rather than taking a safe option is a good example. No way are you making a break when the defence is pretty fresh..
