Some very close games this week in LS1. Seems as if the sun got to the players heads! I have to say, it made a change to stand with a beer in hand not suffering from hypoterhmia.

Gravesend almost getting a win as well as Colfes. I heard Gravesend had a few new players in but would be surprised if that was the case at this stage of the season.
Am I right in saying Colfes still have a chance of survival?

Went to Preistfields yesterday to watch Medway roll over Maidstone.
Still boggles me that Maidstone are going down. Whenever I seen them this year, they don’t play too bad and have a decent pack.

But still to see both them and Gravsend back in LS2 isn’t a pretty sight.

I’ll be going to Park v Tring next week. Huge game. I think Park need 2 points of Guildford get nothing of they want to avoid the drop.

Gravesend can only have had returning players from injury as players will have had to be registered before the end of Feb, pleased for them that they are pushing it to the end of the season.

Colfes are gone as they have 5 points docked for not going down to 14 players when their scrum went uncontested, this is yet to show on the league table. They have appealed to the RFU, but all precedence shows that it’s a clubs responsibility to know competition rules.

Totts VS Cornish was a good game to watch unless you were a defence coach..

Big smile

See you next season.

Congratulations to Civil Service on being crowned champions, would love for Havant to get the playoff spot after they missed out last season. But looking like Medway will get Chingford/Brentwood, do we know yet who's hosting the playoff?

Shame about Hav but that's how close this division is. Their  season defining moment was being 19 points down & a red card within 25 mins.

To come back & win 28-19  against Totts was exceptional.

Gareth - the Cornish v Totts game was a dreadful one for the coaching teams, but a great one for spectators. It has proved useful to me in as much as it solidifies my opinions on a few of our fringe players, many of whom were fielded on the day (as I know they were for Totts too in fairness).

Dickon i think out back line was either all new players or players playing out of position. Plenty of youngsters there that's for sure.

Tackling was optional..  Standout was 5 & 10 for Cornish  as usual..

So Colfes lost their appeal.

Good luck to all in LS1 today.

Last game of the season  but there is always next year . It's been a pleasure to watch every single team at least once this year & i hope this division is just as competitive next season.

So Medway come up just short. Had they been at home I think they would have sneaked it.

Strong league next year. Medway, Park, Havant and Chi all gunning for top.

Am I right in saying a few years back Havant v Combe was a level 4 fixture?

Absolutely right season 2006/7 when Combe came second and Havant came 3rd. Combe moved up to level 3 after a 36-20 play-off victory against Tynedale watched by a crowd in the region of 1700 people with bar takings of approx. £30,000 on the day. Just shows no club has a divine right to be anywhere these days.

Very true.

I have heard that Combe have already secured the services of the majority of their squad? With the exception of Forsyth, Bonner and Lindfield who are all hanging up the boots?

Those are 3 big pairs of boots to fill. Would add Camberley into the mix in top few for Lon 1 S next season - very ambitious and aspirarional.

I feel compelled to contribute to this thread to mention that "little old Melbourne" from South Derbyshire, retained their level 6 status with a losing bonus point (lost 14 - 19 to a 55th minute of 2nd half try) at the expense of "once mighty Rugby Lions".

Well done Melbourne!!
