Dickon good coaching team you have there.. I expect you to be top 3 !.

How is Chris Kolapo-Ajala getting on at Sutts ? I had him marked as one to watch when he was playing for LC 2's down at Sevenoaks when Totts were playing there.

I personally see matches where  players are being paid just another challenge it is nice to beat them & send them home with their tails between their legs.  Nothing better than true Ametuers beating semi pros.

Thanks Ben, as you may have realised I was alluding to the fact that if these two players of undoubted quality were to turn out regularly at this level there would be carnage. You appear to have brilliantly sidestepped what I hoped would have been a response along the lines of "Don't worry their roles are limited to coaching" however nothing of the sort has yet appeared ๐Ÿ˜ Could you perhaps throw some light on this ???

Think we would be happy to take improvement on last season Gareth, given how we finished the season! WR - Dan and Paul will not be playing.

PS On Chris KA - he had a decent run at Sutton, but was always planning on moving back home to Suffolk, and I believe he is unlikely to play much if at all in London this season.

I fancy Rochford hundred to win London 1 north this season. Half of the Southend squad who had played in Nat3 two seasons ago joined them to win London 2 last season and they have continued to strengthen their team with several new signings.
I think they will be far stronger than Southend Saxons this season.

Southend can't be too happy that they've fallen so far from those heady days of National 2 and now appear to be losing players.

I can't sadly, Westcombe Ranger - but London Cornish's DoR is a regular contributor to this thread...

Having experienced Levels 6 and below for the last 20 seasons I think youโ€™re are worrying too much. Many clubs have had players who could easily play 3 or 4 levels higher, they are outstanding, but Iโ€™ve never experienced carnage.

I remember the days of Jersey and their internationals, Gravesend and the Nigerian players, Heath and the Kiwis, even us when the Ealing captain came home to his junior club to coach, none of these including numerous others have ever caused carnage. One player does not make a team.

The only exception was when the RFU placed Richmond in Surrey 1 from the Premiership, that season was the closest Iโ€™ve ever seen to carnage. A whole team of players who could have played 5 leagues higher was not an intelligent decision, not Richmondโ€™s fault.
Rucks and mauls may bust my balls, but whips and chains excite me!!

Not long to go Folks Big smile

I expect Dickon has been to every ground before the season starts to check the Meat Pies, beer & Turf.

Really looking forward to welcoming Westcombe Park, Hove & Dartfordonians..

No significant changes at Totts a few in a few out apart from one of our locks who broke his leg & ankle in 3 places not being fit until Crimbo.

I may be completely wrong here and apologise in advance if wrong but I believe that Westcombe Colts may have played at Totts back in the nineties one Easter as I think we old uns (even at that time) were on our way back from Weymouth and stopped over on the Monday to watch the young uns. They may even have been on the same tour as us.๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ We as a club also are no strangers to Southampton as back in the early eighties we played Trojans at first and second team level - both at home one year and away the year after so it made for a coach trip. For some reason we only got to a pub not far outside Southampton before stopping for a beer break at an establishment called Nellie's Nob. Great days them ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿบ๐Ÿธ๐Ÿท๐Ÿป

Ha ha Nellie's Nob that's going back over 30 years .. It is actually called the Southwestern arms right by the railway line's in St Deny's. Weird really as i lived within 100 meters of it in the early 90's Was my local for a while.Great pint of 6x in there!

I bet no one in the Westcombe team today has played at Totts :D. Thinking back where did you have a pint after the rugby because i do not think we had a proper clubhouse then. You all had to go to the cricket club shed down the road on the King George V field .. Good times in there.

Thames Estuary Man, I agree, a lot of those who moved to Rochford played in Nat2S for many seasons for Southend. They will be very strong this year in Level 6.

Totts first Pre season Friendly vs Newbury.

62-21  Good run out score does not matter but they looked as fit as butchers  dogs.

.
For the life of me I can't remember exactly when it was but could have been middle to late nineties. The clubhouse where we drank at was near the pitch if that helps.
