Decent quality, and very physical game between 2 huge packs at The Knowle considering the deteriorating conditions, which Oaks edged by virtue of being more clinical on the rare occasions either side made a clean line break. Cornish dominated large chunks of possession and battered our way over the line on a couple of occasions, but couldnt convince the decent ref that we had grounded the ball. Post match only enhanced the relationships between the clubs.

Bit harsh to say camberley were woeful! more of a case that we were better than them and stopped their game plan.. Frustrated their Fijians with some great tackling especially the one with the "top knot" who was very dangerous..we frustrated camberley so well that they resorted to gobbing off to the ref which resulted in At least 3 ten metre March backs! and one of their players even had the "guts"to call the touch judge a cheat at which I'm surprised the TJ didn't ram his flag down the guys throat (which when upset he's more than capable of doing!)
But to give him credit he did apologise afterwards I hear.
So a well deserved win by us and capped off by a game of "save the Christmas sprout"in the bar afterwards!😁

A fair review Dickon but I think to be fair both sides were "held up" on a couple of occasions. I certainly saw the ball on the whitewash on one occasion when Oaks were on the attack. No try given. A game played in good spirits with only the one yellow card to Dan Leo for a no arms tackle. Cornish have certainly improved since earlier in the season. They will test some of the top 5.

The Camberley match report suggests that the Havant players said it was a try. Sour grapes or did the TJ have a mare?

I would love to hear from one of the Combe contingent about their club. Is the DOR untouchable? With the 2nd team also struggling it would seem like an unhappy camp.

The Controversy at Havant was on the far side where no spectators were evident. The TJ was getting harangued at the end but I’d like to think he made an honest call.

THEIR match report got that wrong, I mean I can really see some of our boys saying to the ref "give them a try sir" NOT!
I spoke to our tj afterwards and he was 100% certain about it..that'll do me because he is not a cheat

by the way have you read OUR match report?

Far from a classic in the drizzle at Priestfields but Medway got the job done against a solid Darts side - you see how they’ve upset some, in theory, better teams already this year. Despite probably at 75/25 possession split it took a lot of building to break down a well organised defensive system.

Shock, or perhaps not, loss for WP. Wheels coming off now they are set for mid-table obscurity rather than the easy bungee back to the Nationals as expected?

Ditto Havant. Felt sure the Camb backline would run riot on the big plastic paddock. But it sounds like they did too and it was their undoing.

OPs beat Ruislip 13-5 in biblical conditions at Perivale. Ruislip really came out fighting and with a huge pack they dominated up front. However home support plus an outstanding back line meant OPs emerged victorious . Full credit to Ruislip they gave it a full go and nearly caused an upset , but with only 2 wins from 14 I suspect if things don't change very soon they could be in a real relegation battle.

Worth noting that our 2s played London New Zealand 1s. We put out a fairly strong side and got a bit of a thumping. As I understand it these guys were Chsiwick 3s but decided to move on and do their own thing (purely what i heard 2nd hand on the touchline) . They were impressive on the pitch with some real size and they were good fun in the club house. I think you will see more of them if they can sustain recruitment.

LNZ would lack consistency to make any charge up the leagues. Some years would be outstanding and others not so much as the vagries of jobs, tourism, visa's and availability are too fluid to build any foundations on.

Interesting times in L1N, Ruislip not the team they were. OP’s had a magnificent run last season but have not been able to replicate it this term. Rochford unlikely to be caught so with an 11 point gap between 3-4th it looks a straight shootout between Colchester and North Walsham for the playoff spot.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Fullerians pull themselves out of the relegation zone in time, but there’s about half the league with nothing to play for (so to speak)

Rochford will do a clean sweep and will be miles away.benefited from Southend’s fall from grace L1S is a far tougher league to play in and they wouldn’t find it that easy in this league
