Thanks. There were times when I wondered if anyone was reading, but carried on doing it anyway!

With Hull winning and Macclesfield losing, this could prove to be an incredibly important day in League One 2016/17.

So Macclesfield are, unless something extraordinary happens (massive points deductions, for example) in the next few weeks, relegated, and there are three points between Blaydon and Hull with three games remaining. They are going to be fascinating games!

Blues fans will doubtless be gutted with yesterday's outcome - nothing like the overwhelming 0-5 predictions made elsewhere on this board.

An out of sorts Albion team was met by a totally up for it Macc outfit. Nip and tuck all the way and eventually a narrow home lead in the final quarter with the visitors a man down. Then an away interception try to take the score to three three ahead. As the clock wound down, the siege on the Plymouth 5m line seemed destined to prevail. But the defence finally came to life and kept out wave after wave of blue attacks. Finally, a short blast of the whistle provided comfort to the travelling support - no penalty try, just a penalty hefted into touch to get out of jail and maintain a decent league points cushion.

Come cheer up, my lads - 'tis to glory we steer!

Great effort by the Hull I's players yesterday. The game needed to be won and despite giving away the usual 2 early scores we came back strongly and confidently to overcome a good Cambridge side. Very pleased with the forwards efforts, well backed up by some good running and off loading from the backs.
The visitors backs were very lively and the inside pass for their 4th try was sublime. Hope the lad who was stretchered off is ok.

A good game all round but unfortunately, spectators were once again left wondering 'why' after witnessing some strange decisions from the officials. The ref seemed ok, confident and in control but, we had a certain assistant ref who was determined to be involved in some way, rightly or wrongly. Usually wrongly! Despite being unable to see any offsides in the game at all, this assistant ref managed to contribute with 3 decisions, 2 of which only he saw but, all 3 in their own way could be described as 'game changing'. Well done sir.
