I think Tring were very unfortunate last season, and was very impressed with RTW overall season. If they can maintain their consistency both sides should be up there at the top. Westcliff were my surprise package last season and overall they did very well. So my top 3 predictions in any combination are:

Tring
Royal Tunbridge Wells
Westcliff

That said one can never tell how other teams have built and recruited, and TBH not many of us will know the strengths, weaknesses of Brentwood, Bedford Ath, Chingford or CS Rugby to form an opinion. On that basis couldnt possibly call a bottom 3.

I will say that Chingford got a lot of the East Grinstead players when they pulled out of the league. They ran RTW close in the promotion play-off last year, only lost by 2 points after extra time. I'd say they'll be tougher than people think.

That match was in my top 3 matches I've watched with TW in 14 years of following them.

It was like playing a mirror image of our team. Both teams very strong defensively at that time and looking to make ground from all areas of the park. It really could have gone either way.

I can only imagine they will have built last season and this Summer and I'm looking forward to meeting them again this season.

I was away for the TJs match last week, but I did hear that a number of players were unavailable. I would hope to see a full strength squad out against Westcombe Park this weekend.

In the mix at the top:

Champs from : RTW, Westcliff
Pushed by: Hertford, Tring, Wimbledon

Usual suspects in the middle (win one, lose one): Dorking Scottish ;-) , S&E, Guildford, Chingford (could surprise a few IMO..), Shelford

At the bottom from:  Bedford Ath, Sidcup, Brentwood, CS Rugby

All in good fun of course.

Been a long summer cant wait to get going :-)
For the ordinary purposes of conversation, a superficial knowledge of many things goes further than an intimacy with one or two.

Only one winner for me this season, and that's Wimbledon who beat Barnes in a friendly the other week, i expect to see them putting a lot of points on the majority of teams, with RTW, Hertford and Tring fighting it out for second place although Chingford sound like they could be a suprise package.
Lots of people writing off Civil Service but from what i've heard they'll be fine, i expect Bedford to struggle like Towcestrians did last year and have no knowledge of Brentwood, but i can see one of the normal mid table teams, Guildford, Sidcup, Sutton or Shelford being dragged into the relegation battle.
No major signings or new arrivals at Sutton, but we have a new coaching team in Paul Hodgson, ex Sutton Mini & Junior, London Irish and England and Mike Schmidt, ex Rotherham, Esher and Canada who will hopefully make us more organised and difficult to beat, time will tell, good luck everyone.Beer

Watched Bedford A take on Cambridge II on the astro at Shelford, Bedford's pitch still needs signing off.
Athletic lost by a missed conversion as both sides scored three tries on a very damp evening.
A very good work out for both sides.
The Cambridge side had several players with 1st team experience.
I would not be writing off Athletic.

Athletic do have a grass pitch they can use on the 8th  should the paperwork on the 4g not come though.

Watched T.Wells narrowly beat Westcombe Park today - Understand both sides were a little short of a full squad, but a very entertaining game.

WP looked stronger than last season to me.  I see no reason why we shouldn't see them back in L&SE Prem this time next year.

TW solid in many areas, and need a little fine-tuning this week in others.  Our first pre-season was called off so this was our second pre-season after TJs last week.  Still missing a few players, and didn't fire on all cylinders today... but, all of the components are there for another successful season.

Watched an entertaining Dorking v Camberley friendly yesterday. Pretty good performance by both sides with Dorking narrowly winning the 1's and Camberley the 2's. I can see Camberley holding their own comfortably in London 1 this season. I get the impression that the margins between L5 and L6 are shortening and we are set for an interesting season.

One thing i've always wondered, why do CS keep changing their name? First they were Civil Service, then they became CS Rugby 1863 when they first got promoted to Nat 3, now they seem to have become CS Stags 1863 now they're back in Nat 3.

I do hope that taxpayer's money isn't being used to fund all these.

A few people have tipped Westcliff for promotion; we take this as a huge compliment, especially as we have usually been candidates for moving the other way.
I hate to disabuse anyone of their opinions, but I am very certain that Westcliff will not be in the promotion mix this year. As a totally amateur club, we do not pay or actively recruit, which makes getting and keeping players difficult, and being amateur players there is not the same commitment to train and play each week.
We have some good players, and on our day with a full side and the rub of the green, we can compete with most sides, but to go up you need more than just a few good players. You need a good squad, money, ambition and a bit of courage - we do not have all of these.
Wimbledon, TW and Tring fit the bill.
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers

Mr Foot, a tad pessimistic but otherwise refreshingly honest.

Can't wait for our game with Westcliff, always enjoyed it over there. When's the new clubhouse going to be ready?

OK, but the question is still unanswered. Why do they keep changing their name?

Mr Foot

You could be describing Tring in this paragraph!!!!! --As a totally amateur club, we do not pay or actively recruit, which makes getting and keeping players difficult, and being amateur players there is not the same commitment to train and play each week.----

Going to be tough for and good luck to all.

The new Westcliff clubhouse is under construction, and new pitches laid but we won’t be moving in there this season.
