Pistacio they will need a Stadium that meets RFU criteria and more than 500 supporters. Your looking at millions of pounds and even Trailfinders have not got that sort of spare cash.

The salary cap in the Premiership is, say, £7 million allowing for England payments, etc. That's without running a stadium, marketing, etc. How many Championship Clubs other than Bristol could scale up their current business plan to that in a season?

Not sure many Premiershi sides can afford Premiership rugby: Worcester are looking for a cash injection -

I've always figured that they could look to temporarily move into Griffin Park in Brentford - only a couple miles from their current grounds, and seats over 10k (and has a bar on every corner of the pitch!). All 500 supporters would be very well served.

Griffin Park Brentford has 20,000 capacity. Ealing have around an attendance of 500. Great atmosphere on match day then. Suppose if the game gets boring you could always play spot the fan!

I was dead against Welsh playing a couple of games at Griffin Park (it was a semi-serious proposal about probably ten years ago) for this very reason - but if you want to aim for promotion then you have to do these things, no matter how stupid they look on paper.  Maybe, if we'd had some sensible negotiations with Brentford and tried it out then we might have been able to come to a mid-to-long term arrangement with them which would have enabled a transition as-and-when required.  And who knows how different the last five years might have been had that happened?
