Well if you can't be favourites against the team who haven't won a game for nearly a year then when are you going to be favourites? Against the team who haven't lost a game all season and nearly a year? WinkBig smile I think we need to discuss this further on 7th April over a pint.

At least we seem to have selected a 1st team this week, albeit with one 17yr old  ..... (England U18s) player.

As you well know young man if you're good enough then you're old enough. Wink
As to a 1st team, whoever you have on the pitch on the day is the 1st team. Big smile
I may be able to discuss further in April.

This week’s results are:

Bees 43-5 Doncaster Phoenix

Bournville 17-19 Newbold

Bridgnorth 32-26 Longton

Derby 19-17 Lichfield

Nuneaton 3-16 Sandbach

Peterborough Lions 59-15 Old Halesonians

Bees appear to have regained some of their form from earlier in the season with another 7-try success in bitter conditions. Friday’s game saw Newbold do their survival prospects no harm with a good away win and dragging opponent’s Bournville into the relegation battle. Despite losing to Bridgnorth, Longton secured 2 bonus points that lifts them out of the relegation zone by virtue of the greater number of wins. Replacing them are Lichfield who agonisingly lost to Derby with virtually the last play of the game. Nuns injury woes continue to affect their form as they lost at home to Sandbach who decided to field their best available players this week. Lions dispatched Hales without much trouble.

The Bees Phoenix game completes the week 17 fixtures and max bonus points to 7 of us. The remaining fixtures are from the big freeze and the outstanding games between Bees and Newport and Skunthorpe and Doncaster will be played on Easter Saturday. Bonus points have been awarded to those who have achieved them this week and thus the table may be a bit skewed. As it stands, I have opened a 5 point lead at the top but I don’t expect that to persist

Actually "failed to score what should have been a walk in in the last seconds" would be more correct.
