Derby -v-Bridgnorth A - eeny, meeny, miney, mo I’ve changed my mind so many times on this one. Think ‘north will pip this one

Doncaster Phoenix -v- Bournville H – Phoenix will be too slick and quick for Bournville

Lichfield -v- Bees  A – last season we were royally spanked  by Lichfield at theirs. Not this time

Longton -v- Sandbach A – Longton have the ability to pull off a surprise but form suggests that this will not happen this week

Newbold -v- Peterborough Lions A – only question is by how many

Newport -v- Old Halesonians H - only question is by how many

Nuneaton -v- Skunthorpe H - eeny, meeny, miney, mo I’ve changed my mind so many times on this one. Think Nuns will pip this one

Life is a game but rugby is serious!

Derby -v- Bridgnorth    AW close two good understated teams North to edge it
Doncaster Phoenix -v- Bournville   HW Choclatiers in the brown stuff cannot see them winning up at Donny
Lichfield -v- B’ham & Solihull   AW relentless but always high scoring with Lich especially if sun stays out
Longton -v- Sandbach   AW Bach too good unless Clayheads have rung for cavalry yet?
Newbold -v- Peterborough Lions   AW Could be a long shift for brave Bold
Newport -v- Old Halesonians  HW Ditto OH
Nuneaton -v- Skunthorpe  AW Could be a cracker watched last week at Nuns when Newport ran out of legs and ideas against a well organised Nuns. Shall go again as looks to be best game of weekend. Fancy Scunny to edge it on the bog

Different pitches. I had an inkling when Section19 forewarned me to take my wellies. So perhaps they don't have the pristine pitches he claimed. Wink

We did everything we could to get the pitch fit after playing on it last Saturday. It was attended to and rolled but more rain and the prospect of more tomorrow morning worked against us. We were keen to play - why wouldn't we - but accept the local referees decision. Sorry FP, see you soon.UnhappyUnhappy

THIS IS FROM ROARY

Roary has been recalled by the local constabulary for further questions on his time keeping re : an on going case.
People who know me are aware I am his solicitor, and I was passed a piece of paper under the table from Mr Roary at the time of cross examination. I thought it might be new evidence.....NO.....it was his predictions for this week.
Last time Roary.      Last chance Roary.

Doncaster Phoenix v Bournville HW
Lichfield v Birmingham&Solihull AW
Longton v Sandbach AW
Newbold on Avon v Peterborough Lions AW
Newport v Old Halesonians HW
Nuneaton v Skunthorpe  OFF (will post later)

This week's results are:

Derby 7-33 Bridgnorth

Doncaster Phoenix 54-26 Bournville

Lichfield 17-20 Bees

Longton 5-44 Sandbach

Newbold 5-21 Peterborough Lions

Newport 53-0 Old Halesonians

Nuneaton -P- Skunthorpe

Derby were blown away in the opening 25 minutes as Bridgnorth scored 4 unanswered tries by then. Donny Phoenix dispatched Bournville in an entertaining and high scoring game. Lichfield led for most of the game against leaders Bees and will rue not being able to convert pressure into significant points when Bees had an 8 minute spell with 13 men. Instead Bees were able to secure the bonus point try and the win late on despite the kickers forgetting their kicking boots and getting the wrong side of the ref.  Longton’s poor form continued with another heavy home defeat to Sandbach but fellow relegation favourites managed to give Lions a run for their money and deny them the 4-try bonus point. Newport dispatched win-less Old Hales with an unanswered half century of points to close the gap again on Lions as they compete for promotion.

7 of us managed to predict all of the games played on Saturday; the game that caused the difference was the Derby-Bridgnorth game. This allowed a further point to be put  between Rdh160 and me. Also Westwood1940 regained that point he lost to Harvey Mac last week
