Bournville -v- Sandbach - 'bach the only side to beat the top three and lose to everyone else

Newbold -v- Longton - dead rubber with nothing to play for except pride

Newport -v-Lichfield - too little to late for Newport

Nuneaton -v- Doncaster Phoenix - Nun's injury list playing havoc with their season end

Old Halesonians -v- Derby - usual banker

Peterborough Lions -v- Bridgnorth - 5-pointer to seal their runner's up spot

Skunthorpe -v- Bees  - young backs to revel behind the full strength pack

Life is a game but rugby is serious!

Great 2nd team to support, but missing out on the celebrations, Harvey? You surprise me.

Rossendale is beautiful at this time of year - I'm sure you'll get some wonderful shots of the surrounding countryside
Am I missing something regarding celebrations?
Aren't there two more games to be won yet?

Thatbloke,

You are a year behind the times. Rossendale were in the play-off last year.
Whoever finishes second in the Midlands division face a trip to the City of Culture.

And a very fine job he did. Roll on next Sat and a trip to the UK city of culture!
You’ve got to get your first tackle in early, even if it’s late

Thanks Westwood. The the best thing you have ever said to me in your 77 years on this earth.

The king is dead (Westwood) long live the new king (Stallion). Well done.

333 miles.
£7 to get in. Worth it.
Weather was briil for rugby. Had a water break in each half, thats the teams not me !

Great venue, great views, nice people, good game, no yellows just the odd chat. Result about right.
Proper linesmen.

Enjoyed the trip.

Harv

Thatbloke,

 I stand corrected Sir.
We all look forward to seeing the Lions and their supporters at the Ferens Ground.
 It should be a cracker.
Remind Harvey Mac that Hull is NORTH of the Humber!!

PS - You should see Ross in mid-winter!

Puli,
Not a full 2nd XV, only about ten of them.
We do have a Yorkshire Cup final on Wednesday night to consider.

Week 26 results are:

Bournville 35-30 Sandbach

Newbold 43-0 Longton

Newport 54-29 Lichfield

Nuneaton 24-29 Doncaster Phoenix

Old Halesonians 14-50 Derby

Peterborough Lions 38-12 Bridgnorth

Skunthorpe 26-31 Bees

Sandbach’s inconsistency this season must be a bugbear for their supporters. They are the only team to have beaten the top three and lose to the bottom three. Newbold closed their season with a big win against fellow relegated side, Longton. Newport’s comprehensive win over Lichfield ultimately counted for nothing. A tight old game took place at Liberty Way, Phoenix taking the spoils over Nuns. Hales’ transition season has ended with another big loss this time to Derby. Lions dominated Bridgnorth to secure the runners up spot and now travel to Hull next week to try and secure the final promotion spot. Finally, a rather good game of rugby was spoiled by a minute of madness midway through the second half that saw 2 players from each side get red carded after a mass brawl at Heslam Park.

In this last full week of the MPL, there was only one full house errrrr…..me Embarrassed. I never seem to have this sort good fortune when using my William Hill app. With one game to go the league looks like this

2 of whom, one from each side were merely onlookers to the mass brawl and the instigator of it all walked away scot free. I say no more. Still Stallion and I had a beer together and laugh along with a number of the Bees supporters. I think we'll miss him next season with his wit and repartee at the ground just hope his technology skills improve LOL.
