This week’s results are:

Bees 57-8 Derby

Bournville 19-47 Bridgnorth

Newbold on Avon 14-18 Nuneaton

Old Hales 24-29 Longton

Peterborough Lions 57-0 Lichfield

Sandbach 16-22 Doncaster Phoenix

SKiwifruithorpe 18-52 Newport (Salop)

Bees fended off an aggressive start by a committed Derby side for the first 20 minutes but superior fitness and clinical finishing by us lead to very comfortable win. Bridgnorth backed my statement from last week with an impressive win away from home. Shame I didn’t back them in the PL! Nuns came away with the spoils in the Warwickshire derby to kick their campaign off.  OH get their first points of the season with a close defeat against Longton. Lions dispatched Lichfield clinically, improving their points difference considerably in the process. Phoenix squeaked past Sandbach and Newport consolidated their top-of-the-table position with big win at Scunny, consigning them to the relegation zone for the time being.

We have our 1st full house, predicted by my old friend Joemac. He joins Thatbloke, Westwood1944 and Welshwonder at the top of the tree on 24 points.
