Birmingham & Solihull v Lichfield   HOME  (sadly)

Bournville v Doncaster Phoenix       AWAY   (close)

Bridgnorth v Derby                              HOME   (still a fan)

Old Halesonians v Newport (Salop)AWAY   (unfortunately)

Peterborough Lions v Newbold on Avon HOME    (hopefully)

Sandbach v Longton                                AWAY  (longshot)

Feels very weird. Traditionally one of our biggest tests of the year. Local derby. Usually very fierce.

Some strange results today.

This week’s results were:

B’ham & Solihull 72-17 Lichfield

Bournville 34-29 Doncaster Phoenix

Bridgnorth 21-22 Derby

Old Halesonians 17- 62 Newport (Salop)

Peterborough Lions 31-20 Newbold on Avon

Sandbach 72-0  Longton

Skunthorpe 25-53 Nuneaton

So week 6 sees no movement in the top 2, with both Lions and Bees continuing their 100% records. Bees’ hammering of Lichfield has gone some way to redeem the failings of last season. Bournville surprised all but 3 of us with their home win against Phoenix. Bridgnorth continue to bamboozle almost all of us with their run of poor form. Pipped by Derby with a last minute winner, are they really a poor side? Hales appear to have made the bottom spot their own, but that score against Newport is of the order that others (apart from Nuns) have fared against them. Lions secured a 6th 5-pointer of the campaign but look to have been given a tough old time by Newbold. Sandbach’s one-sided demolition of Longton seems at odds with the claim that this was a meaningful local derby. Did they turn up? Scunny’s return to this league has not been as successful (to date) as many here expected. Their meeting with a resurgent Nuneaton could not have come at worse time.

This week’s top-predictor was Breton Boy Star, only getting the Bournville/Doncaster result wrong. At the top of the table this week are Harvey Mac, Joemac, Welshwonder and Westwood1944 Clap. On to week 7

Stallion, my fine friend.

Best to check my score as me and Westwood went for the same, but he seems to have overtaken me.

How much is he paying you?   I will pay more !

I like your tactics - copy Westwood all season long and beat him by virtue of the alphabet. Genius!

Im more worried about Bretton Boy getting the top score last week !
I will go first this week to see what happens.
But I do like your idea.
