I wish Will Crow would do the same. IMO he has been messed about at RP. Who knows what might happen.

It does seem some clubs want all the toys but then don’t play with them.

Rob Baldwin leaves Keighley to return to Wharfedale, albeit in a non playing role. Be interesting to see his remit.

Confirmation of Tom Wheatcroft's move to Hinckley from Cov (been on loan there most of the season).

As had been agreed by both clubs from week 1. Hinckley now have no loan or dual registered players at all.

That's why I said 'confirmed' Paul. I wish both Tom and Hinckley all the best for the rest of the season, and will try to get over for one or two games myself.

Looking at the Macclesfield Twitter.....seems Macc. have already secured the signings of just about every single player from this season`s squad.

Finkleman, I make no assumption, my point was that at 11th in League it seems rather rash to make what infers as a commitment to next season. That's how it readsWink

If anyone at all is still under the impression that ANY player in Nat 2 is not being paid in some way they're absolutely deluded. That payment ,may come in many forms but don't be under any illusions. Of course there won't be any "proof" as many clubs still cheat and do things illegally.

Totally agree.  What I can't really get my head around is that we expect players to be of a certain standard befitting a semi-professional athlete, train twice a week (on a pitch), train in the gym, eat the proper diet etc and then play every weekend and then we expect them to perform for us without any compensation for their efforts.
It's a little like the 1980's when I was at Uni in Swansea there was a Bath Player who used to get travel expenses (mileage) for a car they gave him and filled with fuel. But he wasn't "paid"
Or often players "worked" for a member of the club in a PR role.  So whenever someone says they don't pay their players, I take it a very large pinch of salt.
Conversely, I don't think players get paid a huge amount to do what they're expected to do.

In my day at Blackheath in the mid 70s we paid for our shorts socks just got the shirt , plus paying membership!!! Yes the travel was paid for but no over nights. The welsh clubs I played against ie Swansea Neath, Newport were also amateurs, however their shopping bills ,were all paid for and I am sure much more. Amateur lol
With the current commitment required at our levels players should be looked after within agreed clubs capability, Bankrolling leads to ....................
The current system in N2S and N requires all the players to make, by their choice great commitment in time to follow their dream of playing at the best level they can achieve. An that I respect. Gold diggers that is another story................
Ah darling wife  is home  and opening a bottle, better go.
Oh good luck to all this weekend especially the underdogs who certainly ruffled a few of the £££££££
last weekend

I didn't realise just how many green eyed monsters there were on this forum, both at Nat2 and Nat1 level. Professionalism has changed the game forever, from the Premiership down and the knock on effect works right the way down, at the end of the day it really doesn't matter, there was never a level playing field in the so called amateur days either.

It is amusing, it appears every club pays their players more, has less supporters, has less "local lads" playing apart from the club that person is from which of course everyone pays to play for, is full every week and the entire squad is made up of their junior colts team who've been playing since they were a mere wee lad of 6.
I've lost track of how many times we've been told by an opposition exec member "of course, we don't pay our players" then the next season one of our players suddenly turns up on their team.

Macclesfield are one of the big underachievers this season (imho) - they have been a yo-yo club the last few years, either running away with N2N or being relegated from N1.

This season they are nearer the bottom of N2N than the top. Has the money run out or was it not wisely spent - perhaps Macc supporters could give us their opinion of which it is?
