Amersham & Chiltern 0-5 DORKING - Dorking to earn respectability for our young developing team.
COLCHESTER 4-1 Chichester - Colchester to leave their mark on this league with farewell win.
GUILDFORD 5-2 Guernsey - G's will be pumped up for this to save their status.
SOUTHEND SAXONS 5-1 Westcombe Park - Likewise Saxons. Recent Hertford visits for both the key.
TONBRIDGE JUDDIANS 5-1 Hertford - Champagne ordered? Judds move closer with socks up!!
WESTCLIFF 4-1 Sutton & Epsom - Westcliff to add to Sutts woes despite recent down in form.
WIMBLEDON 5-1 Shelford - Easy for Wombles as prep for play-off.

Good luck to all. The fat lady will be somewhere near you........

How is league position determined if clubs are level on points? By the number of wins each club has. RFU Playing Regulation 13.2.5(b): 'If two or more Clubs have the same number of League points at the end of the Season, final league positions shall be determined firstly by the number of wins achieved and then on the basis of match points scored.' Then by points difference etc.

If TJs win with a BP they are the winners of Nat 3 SE

Congratulations Southend Saxons on achieving what most thought to be an impossible task. Overcoming the points deduction and some very tough final fixtures (6 consec wins), you have been inspired and fully deserving. With TJ's Champions elect I expect you to win on your final game and share in the party. So it seems it is down to 2 for the final relegation spot between Chichester and Sutton & Epsom, both with home fixtures. Looks like Wimbledon v Dings Crusaders in the play-off. Exciting times.

Thanks for your kind words FAP it has indeed been a great turnaround and done without the cheque book as some had been suggesting. Our bank manager has the book under lock and key in his office so that was never an option anyway. The only new player over the past couple of months has been a teenage winger who is a local lad and he has taken his chance with both hands. There was also a new DOR for the second half of the season and this must been a big influence on the change of fortunes. It should be a good day when TJ come down for the end of season party.

Just as well that TJ have sown things up as one of the great days in our club legend was the end of the 2005/6 season (I think) when North Walsham came visiting for the last game of the season. They only had to win as everone expected to seal promotion as champions but went down 21-20 in a great match. This resulted in Cambridge being champions and North Walsham going to the play offs and losing. Sadly NW never recovered from this upset and slipped down the leagues whilst Cambridge went ever upward.

Looking forward to our encounters next season already.

Thanks Sarfender. My sentiments are are in the blood as an old Essex boy now domiciled in Surrey. There is much to compare about your comments and I recall another 21-20 defeat when Dorking, having narrowly lost out to Bishops Stortford a few years ago, found ourselves in the play-off at Exmouth. We were top in the penultimate game and were away at lowly Tring  Thinking we had just to 'turn up' D's were demolished and ultimately BS took over the top spot. Off we all went to Exmouth (great weekend by the way) where we lost 21-20 in the play-off. Exmouth went up, then came down, then went up again, and are now set to come back down again. I am still one of those old school who believe more in the taking part, than the actual winning and cherish the development and nurtured progress of youngsters from 6 years to 1st XV. I also think losing with dignity and friendship in our sport is a greater leveller and barometer of how rugby at this level should be perceived. Of course there will always be winners and good luck to them. Like Southend, we have experienced the pressures and demands of N2, and I wish TJ's and possibly Wimbledon the best of luck next season. I hope that Saxons and Dorking can benefit from the wealth of home grown talent coming through the ranks and sustain our clubs organic development the natural way. Looking forward to next seasons visit to 'the bridge'.
