Even Stortford and OA's meetings are positively jolly compared to the Sidcup, Guildford mud slinging it would seem.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe,
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion,
I've watched C beams glitter in the darkness near the Tennhauser Gate,

Bedford 5 - 1 Brentwood - Home advantage seems to make a big difference to BA
Chingford 0 - 4 Westcliff - wet and muddy, Westcliff to win but not run away with it
CS Stags 4 - 1 Guildford - not sure who Guildford really are but not as good away from home.
Dorking 5 - 0 Shelford - banker
Sidcup 4 - 1 Tunbridge Wells - not sure who either of these clubs really are.
Tring 5 - 1 S&E - i don’t know why I’m not buying the S&E league position. Can anyone from Wimbledon give a report from last week?
Wimbledon 4 - 1 Hertford - a close one, it could go either way.

What is the Guildford and Sidcup thing about? Not even local rivals or in the same county.

I have to admit neither Club behaves impeccably on the sideline and certainly wind some people up the wrong way but why has the bad blood stuck with these two Clubs?

Your guess is as good as mine...

It would appear the dislike is very much Sidcup to us, although I am enjoying fuelling the fire.

Our Dorking Lawn Bowls club has quite the fearsome reputation... be careful what you wish for otherwise we'll have to beat you at that too!!

Its about who doesn't pay their players the mostest.

At the risk of sounding like voices of Dorking members past - I can say that my beloved Cup are an amateur side for the community. Apart form our new summer signing Chris Walker, who has moved directly into an exclusively coaching role as far as I am aware.

Unsure of where/if there is a rivalry between ourselves and Guildford, I am far more charged up by the thought of RTW this weekend. I have always enjoyed my visits to Guildfords picturesque ground and well appointed club house, as readers will know I am a massive fan of a terráce. Perhaps some of the other Sidcup maulers have had more negative experiences? My only gripe would be the incessant whooping that their team seemed partial to for a few seasons, although there seemed less last time.

@SurreySir are you not including Esher in your rankings? Also, what do you make of Camberley?

Best,
DD

Bedford Athletic 4-1 Brentwood
Brentwood with a close win against Tring last week and Bedford with a close win against Westcliff the week before... both sides improved.  Should be a good match.  Coin toss.  Gone with home advantage.
Chingford 0-5 Westcliff
2 wins on the trot for Ching, but Westcliff bring too much.
CS Stags 1863 1-5 Guildford
More mixed results, but Guildford a little stronger overall
Dorking 5-0 Shelford
Shelford having a nightmare.  Fair play to the lads turning up week in week out and putting in a shift.  It's no fun propping up the league.
Sidcup 1-5 Tunbridge Wells
3pm k.o. under lights.  Mixed results for Wells so far this season.  Looking for a big 80 minutes from this one.  I always enjoy visiting Sidcup.
Tring 5-1 Sutton & Epsom
Tring looking for their 21st home league match undefeated vs Sutts 5 good wins on the trot.  Something's got to give. Match of the week.
Wimbledon 5-0 Hertford
Expecting a bounce from Wimbledon after last week's loss.

Bedford Athletic 5-v-1 Brentwood - Bedford at home fighting for everything on the plastic. Brentwood no better than average.

Chingford 0-v-5 Westcliff - Chingford have managed to get some good results through terrible rugby. Not this weekend. Westcliff to roll them.

CS Stags 1863 4-v-1 Guildford - Was more impressed by CS when I saw them than Guidlford so going for the home team.

Dorking 4-v-0 Shelford - A straight forward one for the Dorking gents.

Sidcup 1-v-4 Tunbridge Wells - A Kent derby. Both teams will be fired up. It's gonna be close. I'm going for a narrow away win.

Tring 5-v-2 Sutton & Epsom - I think this could be a high scoring affair. Going for home advantage.

Wimbledon 4-v-1 Hertford - A few weeks ago, this would have been a no brainer but not so much anymore. I'm going to go for a home win, but it's going to be jolly close.

Some of last week's results were a pleasant surprise - S&E and Brentwood

Bedford Athletic -v- Brentwood 1-4 - Bedford have won last 3 at home and improving. Close game but Brentwood's backs on fast pitch to win it
Chingford -v- Westcliff 0-4 Chingford only won 1 game at home. Can't see it improving this week
CS Stags 1863 -v- Guildford 4-1 CS to secure narrow home win
Dorking -v- Shelford 5-0 Should be straightforward despite Dorking be low scoring this year
Sidcup -v- Tunbridge Wells 4-0 Home advantage to count in the Kent derby
Tring -v- Sutton & Epsom 1-4 Tough one to call but S&E got some more players back and are on a roll.
Wimbledon -v- Hertford 5-0 Wobbles seem to score heavily at home.
What was wrong with calling it London 1?

Bedford Athletic -v- Brentwood 5-1Bedford to keep stronger home run going
Chingford -v- Westcliff 0-5 Classless vs Class
CS Stags 1863 -v- Guildford 4-1 Not much to chose between these two
Dorking -v- Shelford 5-0 The Corks need to win this one
Sidcup -v- Tunbridge Wells 4-1 Tight affair but Home advantage to tell ( esp on that pitch !)
Tring -v- Sutton & Epsom 4-1 As above ( although S&E strong and getting quality players back)
Wimbledon -v- Hertford 5-0 If Dons earn their crust

Hi All.
A few have been asking for some feedback from Wimbledon so here you go.
We potentially have a good side but have not been playing well. I have seen most games and the only match I thought we played really well in was Westcliff away. I heard we were very good in the 1st half away at Tunbridge Wells.
I think the squad significantly under-estimated Sutton last week and hence got their cumeuppance. One of the reasons we have not got going is we lost both 9 & 10 when relegated (Rhys Morgan now scoring for fun at OE's) and our 3rd high class half back Harry Tabb (ex Old Wimbledonian) is long term injured - the replacements have not been as good and hence our back line has rarely got going even though we have some decent finishers out wide.
Regarding our status
Are we wholly amateur? - No we relinquished our CASC status a couple of years ago.
Do we pay the majority of our players? - No
Do we rely upon a wealthy benefactor? - No
Are we sustainable? - yes
Do we want to play in Nat 2? - Yes. As a club we really enjoyed our season last year and would like to try to establish ourselves in that league if we get promoted.
Any other questions?
Good luck all tomorrow - we are looking forward to taking on Hertford.

So you pay some players and not others ? I would have thought they all attend training and invest the same amount of time on a Saturday. Very curious.
