Whilst the top 4 all had comfortable wins yesterday, things at the bottom are getting interesting.
Westcombe Park's fight for survival continues, however many players they are bringing in from the higher leagues, they are certainly making a difference.
Do Dorking need to be looking over their shoulder, surely they will get enough wins between now and the end of the season?
Shelford definitely need to start picking up some points whilst Guildford keep picking up those Bonus Points.
Tunbridge Wells had a big win against Sutton & Epsom, they could do with a win, hopefully not next week!

Very impressive scoring this week, Alacadoo Trainee, Chinese Dave & Clueless like most missing out on the full house by just 1 point.

Please post your predictions for next week below.

Went to see the Hertford/Towcester game on Saturday. Towcestrians weren't as bad as the score suggests and a couple of times got into really good attacking situations before messing it up. A couple of their players would do well to concentrate on their game rather than winding the oppo up. Very childish, and with these 2 teams, never going to win them the match. boys will be boys I suppose LOL

Barnes -v- Westcliff     5-2   Tough call and Westcliff will be desperate to nick this. Barnes at home though.
Guernsey -v- Sidcup    5-0   Not in doubt.
Shelford -v- Guildford   5-2  Must win for Shelford, and the plastic should help.
Sutton & Epsom -v- Hertford   0-5  Speaking of must wins. Need to get a run going again.
Towcestrians -v- Dorking    0-5   Dorking, with one eye over their shoulder, to be too strong.
Tring -v- Southend Saxons   5-0   Southend can't keep it going for a full 80 judging by twitter feeds on Saturdays. And Tring have 'The Hill'.
Westcombe Park -v- Tunbridge Wells   4-1   Another tough call. Can WP keep the fightback going?

Barnes 5 v 0 Westcliff. Hard work for Westcliff amongst the geese poo.
Guernsey 5 v 0 Sidcup. Easy day for the champions in waiting.
Shelford 4 v 1 Guildford. Shelford at home on the plastic, Guildford always good for a bonus point.
Sutton & Epsom 0 v 5 Hertford. This could be a difficult watch unless the physios can work some magic.
Towcestrians  1 v 5 Dorking, High scoring match that will allow Dorking to breathe a sigh of relief.
Tring 5 v 0 Southend Saxons. Tring good value at home.
Westcombe Park 5 v 2 Tunbridge Wells. Match of the day, both teams in good form, but Steve McQueen is revving up the motor bike,

BARNES 5-0 Westcliff- Barnes flying now and might still catch Guernsey and have to go there.
GUERNSEY 5-0 Sidcup- Raiders difficult to beat at Footes Lane. No surprise here.
SHELFORD 4-1 Guildford- A really tight encounter. Shelford must win game against improved G's.
Sutton & Epsom 0-5 HERTFORD- Rumours of Sutts injuries are real and affecting them recently. Tough.
Towcestrians 1-5 DORKING- If D's play as they did at Guernsey, they should win. Big if though.
TRING 5-1 Southend Saxons- Tring impressed at Dorking but not enough to catch top 2 IMO.
Westcombe Park 1-5 TUNBRIDGE WELLS- Twells seem the real deal of late. Improving consistent.

I think the top 4 now will be the top 4 at season end, but in what order? MOTD could well be at Park this weekend. With re-inforcements and a couple of wins for confidence, will they be good enough to overhaul a resurgent TWells. I expect a gladiatoral Kent derby and win for the visitors. Good luck to all.

Barnes 5-0 Westcliff - whatever the boys did at Christmas it has revitalised the team, last week's win at Sidcup was some of the best rugby I have ever seen us play, despite the adverse conditions. The result of this game will determine just how much Barnes have improved, both the 1s and 2s are nearly back up to full strength and playing well so selection in Feb is going to be highly competitive, and we have not been in that position all season.Barnes to thrive like pigs in goose poo!
Guernsey 4-1 Sidcup - tough follow up gig for Cup after last week's demolition by Barnes, the islanders will be licking their lips but expect a competitive performance from Cup
Shelford 4-1 Guildford - the results of both these teams are so topsy turvey that it is almost impossible to predict this result so going with Shelfords home form vs Guildfords away form
Sutton & Epsom 0-5 Hertford - this looks like an easy 5 pointer for Hertford
Towcestrians 0-5 Dorking - Dorking easily the better side here unless Tows have a handful of loan players as most of the lower teams appear to have to help them out of the mire
Tring 5-0 Southend Saxons - big win for Tring wjo are very at home on their mountain
Westcombe Park 0-5 Tunbridge Wells - this is a tough call, based on the last time we played each team you would have to say TW at a canter BUT it is obvious that WP are on a good roll in their last couple of matches with the new squad additions. On balance it won't be enough and after a tense first half TW will pull away

A slight tangent to the scores but I have just heard that Blackheath have folded their 2nd XV (They were in Zoo Shield 1 with Barnes 2s) and after the Blackheath 3rd XV folded earlier in the season, this is a crying shame, and a worrying trend is emerging of big clubs like Rosslyn Park and Blackheath canning their 2's - if this trend continues it will create an even bigger schism between the 1st XVs and the rest of their clubs . Do you all have this issue in your clubs?

Barnes 5 v 0 Westcliff. - very impressed with them last week (the best team we have come across so far IMO) a much better side then when we played them at the beginning of the year, Barnes to keep up and eventually overtake Guernsey!
Guernsey 0 v 5 Sidcup - we are the rangers..
Shelford 0 v 5 Guildford. - Shelford to slip into the relegation zone this week
Sutton & Epsom 0 v 5 Hertford. - S&E look like they're struggling, Hertford back to form
Towcestrians 1 v 4 Dorking,- Towscester to put up a fight, but Dorking to grind it out
Tring 5 v 0 Southend Saxons. - Tring the Leicester of Nat 3?!
Westcombe Park 5 v 2 Tunbridge Wells. - Massive physical battle, will be a great game, the new recruits (and i expect very heavy pitches suitng their style down to the ground) are saving WP this year

@honestinjun - I agree, it is a worrying trend. At Sidcup we've been lucky enough to put out 3,  and on a rare occasion even 4 teams this year with a vets team 'running' out every now and then too. I think that it depends on the model, Sidcup is very much a community club where the boys are all local or have come up through the ranks, everyone else tends to be mates of mates. As a result I do think it means we can hold the interest of boys not selected in the 1s a bit better than say the bigger clubs where players come and go are and have less allegiance to the badge. In fact i think theres an argument to make that the the lower down the leagues you go, the stronger club rugby attendance at  2/3s is! What are your thoughts on the zoo league in general?

What I don't get is this. Why would any aspiring player go to a club where you play in the first team or not at all? Outside the Prem a bench warmer won't make enough to live on so why go there.
Seems a negative step for the whole club.

Where the 1st XV is "monied" that means there are 1st XV players in the 2nds ( not always the case and I do wonder what the players are doing if not playing for the 1sts or 2nds ! ) so there are very strong teams. However there are also very weak teams if the surplus 1's players decide they are not playing 2's rugby and the 2's have to bring up 3's players or 18 /19 year olds to make up the numbers. The concept of the Zoo league is great, a really competitive 2nd team league, but the reality is many mismatches and huge scores resulting in teams dropping out as it is not competitive for their standard of player, Westcombe Park & Tonbridge Judds just two this season.
It doesn't help either if the respective 1st XVs of the clubs in the Zoo league are in different leagues themselves which means an entirely different class of player playing in the 2nd XV.
You could potentially have Nat 1 players playing against 3rd team level players in an extreme example, but certainly mismatched playing abilities & fitness resulting in heavy defeats.

It seems the Zoo Leagues have always just taken whoever wants to take on the expense of extra travel and play in non-county leagues.

Barnes 5-0 Westcliff
Can Westcliff tame Barnes?  This has the potential to be a decent match.  But it's more likely Barnes will carry on doing what they've been doing recently.
Guernsey 5-0 Sidcup
Enjoy the weekend 'cup.  Guernsey to maintain that home undefeated record.
Shelford 5-0 Guildford
Neither making easy work of it, but Shelford have a reasonable home record, and Guildford haven't won away since 30th September.
Sutton & Epsom 0-5 Hertford
S&E going through a rough patch looking at their last few results.  Hertford for possibly the biggest score of the week.
Towcestrians 0-5 Dorking
Dorking will be looking for a big match after facing the top 3 over the last 3 weeks.
Tring 5-0 Southend Saxons
Still undefeated at home.
Westcombe Park 1-5 Tunbridge Wells
12th isn't a fair reflection of current form. 4 wins from 5 for WP, but it won't be enough to get past Wells
