Am I right in thinking that despite Tring’s magnificent victory today they can no longer finish in the top 2 and after today’s results at the bottom, the last relegation spot can only be filled by Westcombe Park or Guildford?

It would take one hell of an unlikely set of circumstances involving Tows thrashing Guernsey and Tring hammering WP to the point where it overturns a 122 points difference.
At the other end it looks like WP, with Guildford with an outside chance. I don't see Guildford beating Hertford, which really leaves it in WP's hands to beat Tring. It would be unlikely, but if I was a neutral and not busy elsewhere, that's the match I'd go to watch next week. There's a incredibly remote chance for Shelford and Sidcup, but so incredibly unlikely as to make it not worth considering. Edited by BruceElliott - 14 Apr 2018 at 20:05 |

WP dont have to beat Tring to stay up - if Guildford get nothing at home to Hertford, WP could stay up with 2 bonus points, as they have won 9 matches against Guildfords 7.

That’s where I’ll be next week. Going to be huge.
And it looks like CS make their long awaited return to L5 and Havant have to wait another year! |

Well played Sidcup. You were hungry, determined, and fully deserved your win. Dorking need to work on consistency and hopefully have a more settled team. We are either very very good or quite simply very average. With plenty of young players coming through, we also have a few who are close to the end of their playing careers, but the hard work continues.

Am I right in saying that Sidcup still aren't mathematically safe?
If Park and Guildford both pick up 5 and 4 points respectively, and they fail to beat Southend they can go down? Or are my maths wrong? |

If that happened, WP would be equal on points and wins but because draws are the next criteria, they would go above Sidcup as they have 1 draw to Sidcup's 0 so yes that is right.

WP, Shelford, Sidcup and Guildford all still mathematically in the relegation fight and anything can happen on last day when you have 4 teams with league survival at stake versus 4 teams with nothing much to play for.
At the other end Barnes are guaranteed at least 2nd place and Guernsey would need to fail to get a point at home to Towcestrians for Tring or Hertford to have any chance of making the playoffs therefore it almost guaranteed that Barnes and Guernsey will occupy the top 2 spots and Tring/Herford will be playing for 3rd. Personally I think Barnes win the league and Guernsey will still go up as playoff winners. |

Thanks FAP, undoubtedly the future is bright with the youth that you're bringing through.
My first trip to the Big Field in a number of years, not many better spots to watch rugby in the sun with a cold glass of the good stuff. Really enjoyable game where everything seemed to click for us which we'e been threatening to do for a few weeks now, and we got the rub of the green with a couple of bounces of the ball, something that hasn't happened much this year!! The result was only tempered by finding out that all of the other teams around us also pulled off great wins... We need to take 1 point to ensure survival next year, no guarantee with the resurgent form Southend are currently in. Its going to be a hell of a last week - well played Tring - superb effort. As an aside, if we do manage to get what we need to stay up, would this be the first time all 3 promoted teams stayed up?

Looking at it. Shelford and Sidcup both need just the point to be safe? Would put hem both on 55 and with Park on 49 that seems to work out.
Sidcup I’d imagine would get at least that at home to Southend and I can see Shelford getting either a TB or LB at least from the Wells game on the plastic. |

I can assure you Sir_Q that Hertford have everything to play for this Saturday, finishing above Tring! Hertfordshire bragging rights are on the line.

Fatty1973 - it depends if you want WP in the league next season, always a bruising encounter for any side Don't forget OA's and BSRFC are above the both of them in Nat 1, well not for OA's it appears could be heading back to the Nat 2S |
