Exciting game at Sutton yesterday, two teams with contrasting styles, Sidcup with a hugely dominant set piece, powerful scrum, excellent line out and driving maul, but not a lot to offer out wide, whilst Sutton were much more mobile, quicker to the breakdown and much more inventive out wide, could of gone either way, but under the new coaching regime Sutton seem more organised and able to adapt when necessary.

Westcliff ran out comfortable winners at home, but credit must go to a Shelford team who continued to throw the ball about and play entertaining rugby right to the final whistle.

Dave2Dave......I notice you are new to N3LSE blog and welcome. I guess you are a Tring supporter and hope your comments are genuine. Unfortunately I couldnt make the trip this year so did not see the game but I did follow for 80mins on Twitter in my armchair. From what I can read into it Dorking did our usual inconsistent performance. One week brilliant (Brentwood/Tring) and the next very average and unimpressive.(Sutts). From being 20-6 down at half time, Dorking were on fire in the second half and led with 5 mins of play left 20-23. There was I thinking my sole win prediction would pay off, when D's got a yellow card and valiantly conceded a try from a Tring line out to relinquish a hard fought lead. Even then in the dying seconds we were held up on the Tring line when the final whistle blew. Were the Tring support glad to get out of Jail?? or have I got this wrong.??

Would it be fair to say we demolished the Tring scrummage or was that just our Twitter feed view.?Smile
I have said in earlier posts this season that I believe this will be the tightest finish for many years. You just have to look at the close scores not just this week, but since the season kicked off, with exception of Wimbledon and Westcliff maybe. I maintain the real battle will be to finish between 5th and 9th in the league. OK Dorking are currently 3rd from bottom, but I am confident this will not be the case come April 2019. Yet to see a full strength Dorking team play this season, as we are still blooding some of our very good youngsters. Would be interested to read the views of others.  Certainly I was premature in selecting Westcliff to be champs last season, but now a realistic chance.

Thanks for the welcome FAP. Watched the forum for years but unable to join from OZ
Now back in the UK, So impressed and loved watching last season with Dorking and Sidcup both so well coached with the assets they had to work with.

The Dorking 6 was a ghost to the ref, very good player indeed.

What did you know, that the rest of us didn’t ?   Were the wombles all underground, or are CS much stronger than their first few results maybe suggested ?
