Another disappointing result for my team Hertford yesterday, not that I expected a victory, Tring is a tough place to go, especially when you play most of the match with 14 players.
Westcliff and Wimbledon appear to be the teams to catch, with all of the rest capable of beating each other.
Many congratulations to Thames Estuary Man, top scoring this week with 24 points.

Good game at Brentwood yet again, Shelford backs impressed at times and looked to move the ball but didn't break through until late in the game. Big game at Westcliff this week, looking forward to it already.

Dorking 5 v 0 Chingford             Can't see Chingford getting close
Guildford 1 v 4 Wimbledon         Could be a tight game
Hertford 5 v 0 Bedford Athletic   Hertford turning things around
Shelford 1 v 4 Sutton & Epsom  S&E should win the forward battle
Sidcup 1 v 4 CS Stags 1863       Sidcup could bounce back from last week's shock but can't see it
Tunbridge Wells 0 v 5 Tring        Tring sound like a useful side
Westcliff 1 v 4 Brentwood          Should have backed them for 5 - 0 last time, I'm going for an away win in a great local derby

Dorking -v- Chingford 4-1 I think this will be a close game but I am going for home advantage.
Guildford -v- Wimbledon 0 -5 Can't see the home side getting anything from this.
Hertford -v- Bedford Athletic 4-1 Hertford clearly not the side they were last season, but still too strong for BA.
Shelford -v- Sutton & Epsom 1-4 Shelford are improving a little and S&E you just don't know! S&Es backs should prevail on the plastic.
Sidcup -v- CS Stags 1863 4-1 Home advantage hopefully will carry Cup home, but injury list growing.
Tunbridge Wells -v- Tring 1-4 This game is going to be a cracker and whilst TW have improved I think Tring will have a little too much for TW.
Westcliff -v- Brentwood 4-1 Home side to have too much but if Brentwood could scrumage then they would do a lot better in this league.

Dorking 4 v 1 Chingford. Dorking not overly impressive, but they know how to grind out a result in this league.
Guildford 1 v 5 Wimbledon. Dons are this seasons class act, but Guildford are always good for a bonus point.
Hertford 5 v 0 Bedford Athletic. Hertford to prove too much for Bedford at home.
Shelford 2 v 5 Sutton & Epsom. Sutton need this one badly, long term injuries and absentees are hurting them but they should win this one, however no doubt we'll let Shelford get closer than they should.
Sidcup 4 v 1 CS Stags 1863. Stags apparently unlucky last week and this could go either way, but gone for home advantage.
Tunbridge Wells 1 v 4 Tring. RTW back to full strength last week and impressive, but Tring are a decent side.
Westcliff 5 v0 Brentwood. Westcliff to rule in Essex, mightily impressive to have eighteen home grown players in their squad last week.

Sidcup 5-1 CS Stags Another flip coin
Tunbridge Wells 1-5 Tring T.Wells are a mid table team at best. Tring to dominate

Dorking 5-0 Chingford. Going with Dorking who impressed me. Haven’t seen Chingford yet.
Guildford 0-5 Wimbledon I think Wimbledon will bring too much physicality for Guildford.
Hertford 5 - 0 Bedford Athletic. Going with home advantage.
Shelford 0-5 Sutton & Epsom. Shelford due a win soon, so I’m probably wrong here !
Sidcup 5 - 0 CS Stags. Sidcup’s raucous support to tip it.
Tunbridge Wells 5 - 0 Tring. Really not sure
Westcliff 5-0 Brentwood. Several regulars missing but managed a good win with extended squad latest.

Dorking 5-0 Chingford - Dorking solid and home, and will have too much nous for Ching.
Guildford 0-5 Wimbledon - Guildford not delivering on potential, and Wimbledon won't slip up.
Hertford 5-1 Bedford Athletic - Surprise Sidcup win aside, Hertford at home too tough an ask, though wouldn't be surprised if Bedford get some points.
Shelford 0-5 Sutton & Epsom - Don't see Shelford breaking their duck this weekend.
Sidcup 4-1 Civil Service - really tough call, home advantage to swing it for Cup, just.
Tunbridge Wells 1-4 Tring - game of the weekend, Wells home advantage but Tring look handy wherever they are playing
Westcliff 4-0 Brentwood - Westcliff not doing as well as they'd like, but still better than Brentwood at home.

Dorking -v- Chingford           5-2     Home ad to swing it, but both beatable.
Guildford -v- Wimbledon       1-5     Don't see Guildford getting that close to Wimbledon
Hertford -v- Bedford Athletic  5-0   No surprises last week, but this is the sort of game we need to take a full house from.
Shelford -v- Sutton & Epsom   1-5   Can't see SE being as bad as they were at our place in the dry and firm ground.
Sidcup -v- CS Stags 1863        5-1   I dislike Sidcup less than I dislike CS.
Tunbridge Wells -v- Tring       1-5    Tring not as good as last year, but far too good for TW this year.
Westcliff -v- Brentwood         5-2     Westcliff to keep chugging along at the top.

Oasthouse I’m not sure if Westcliff are not doing as well as they’d like or if they are doing better than they’d like!

What I’d like to ask is what does everyone think of the standard in the division in comparison to the last couple of years or even 5 years or so ago?

I think the standard at the top is far off what it once was although the standard at the bottom has got much better. Is that a sign of teams wanting to stay in this division - not get relegated but not get promoted? I remember some top players in this league and now it seems like some names get mentioned on here but when you come up against them they are not what you expect.

I’ll start a new thread with the same post so not to clog up the predictions league but my predictions

Dorking 5-0 Chingford
Guildford 0-5 Wimbledon
Hertford 5-1 Bedford Athletic
Shelford 0-5 Sutton & Epsom
Sidcup 1-4 CS Stags
Tunbridge Wells 1-4 Tring

Dorking 5-0 Chingford
I feel Dorking will be spurred by last weeks win and will be too fast for Chingford
Guildford 1-4 Wimbledon
Match of the round and could go either way
Hertford 5-0 Bedford Athletic
Interesting to see if Bedford's win last week was a one off and Hertford have been disappointing this year but think they will get back on track in this one
Shelford 0-5 Sutton & Epsom
Yet more pain for Shelford
Sidcup 5-1 CS Stags
Wind out of Stags sails
Tunbridge Wells 4-1 Tring
Close one but going with home advantage
Westcliff 5-0 Brentwood
Home banker

Dorking -v- Chingford- 5-0 Dorks impressive last few weeks
Guildford -v- Wimbledon 1-5 - dons to run away late on
Hertford -v- Bedford Athletic - 5-1 Hertford to get the better of Bedford
Shelford -v- Sutton & Epsom- 0-5 takes a lot of confidence to back Shelford I believe
Sidcup -v- CS Stags 1863 - 5-1 - do Sidcup flatter to deceive?
Tunbridge Wells -v- Tring - 1-5 - Tring to grind
Westcliff -v- Brentwood - 5-0 Westcliff seemingly unaffected by injuries
