Ilkley called off all weekend rugby activity yesterday. First XV is away at Hoppers. Presume the pitch will be ok, but what about getting there ?

The same for Kendal going to Billingham ?

Twitter has Harrogate V Pocklington OFF !

The Sandal fixture v Birkenhead Park is very unlikely due to heavy covering of snow on pitch and travel for the away team (this is not an official announcement, pitch inspections later on today !) , the Morley pitch is also under very heavy snow.
A recent survey has found that 6 out of 7 dwarfs aren't happy.......

Hoppers pitch and surrounding area all clear at present.

Some snow expected at some point Friday into Saturday but generally disappears quickly and temperature won't be cold enough for the pitch to freeze.

A59 relatively clear in comparison to other routes so will depend on the overnight.

Surely the Ilkley set will just jump into their 4X4's and all will be fine.

Morley v Kirkby Lonsdale

Pitch inspection due at 4.00pm.

Game unlikely to go ahead due to heavy snow and freezing conditions.

Only Wirral V Hull yet to be cancelled or have I missed it ?

Cant see it been on with travel involved and the fact that Caldy's ground is under heavy snow and its only 7 miles away.

Morley's is odd's on to be cancelled shortly as loads of snow round here and I looked at pictures of the ground taken yesterday.

Looks like a clean sweep of postponed games.

Considering the reports in the media about conditions on the M62 I would have thought it would have been decided much earlier, I have only just heard here in Hull

Hull were two hours down the road when they were told after leaving the club at 9-00am.
Wirral were inspecting at 6-00pm last night and 8-30am this morning.  Two hours down the road is
nearly in Manchester.  Poor show from Wirral as Caldy cancelled yesterday and they are only 7 miles from the Wirral ground

I don't know exactly the circumstances around the Wirral postponement but in their defence it must've been a close call as to the game going ahead or not because we simply haven't had the weather as severe as other areas of the country. As a consequence of the postponement I used the time to work in the garden (I live close by) so the ground was not  that hard but maybe not soft enough for the game to go ahead.

At risk of opening 'a can of worms' surely it isn't the home sides decision whether travel conditions to the ground dictate the game should be cancelled?

The Ilkley vs Hoppers game was called off too early in my opinion.

The weather situation changed markedly between Friday lunchtime and Saturday morning. If bus company wasn’t guaranteeing any return on Thursday/Friday then I’m sure there were others that would have based on Saturdays weather.
