If you and your friend are being chased by a grizzly bear, don’t worry about out-running the bear, just worry about out-running your friend.

Alnwick gave Hull a very tough afternoon before going down by 29-13. They competed well throughout the game, defended extremely well in a torrid last five minutes of the first half when Hull were camped on their line and scored a very fine try in the final 5 minutes.  It took Hull a long time to wear the visitors down but three tries in 13 minutes in the second half left Alnwick with a mountain to climb and they freely admitted after the game that Hull were worthy winners and league leaders. A very good game between two fully committed sides.

A marvellous afternoon of rugby with the final result in doubt upto the last 2 minutes. Down the slope Blaydon went in front but Rossendale dug deep and came back to lead 24 19 at the break. Both teams had periods of dominance but excellent defence kept both teams honest.
The second half was nip and tuck, Rossendale camped for 20 minutes on Blaydon’s line but couldn’t cross a missed penalty by ‘dale ‘ and Blaydon came back strongly and could have snatched a winning try but a penalty in the last 2 minutes gave the home side a hard earned win.
A wonderful advert for rugby at this level, congratulations to both teams.
Face your fears, live your dreams.
