Loo win against Port a good result with a few key players missing, but not a classic, not convincing, and included a short spell of 15 against 13. We need to take heart from this and kick on against Morely. Stockport competed well and for the second time this season had the lead and the front foot in the first half. Loo can't afford to let Morley have that kind of dominance.
You’re not trying to manipulate me, are you? Only I’m notoriously gullible.

Rossendale did in fact come back from being 28-0 down 5 minutes into second half to win 31-28.
Kendal played their hearts out and were a credit to the club but we're really tired playing uphill in second half after giving so much. The game hinged on the last play in the first half when Kendal crossed only for the player to "aqua plane" over the dead ball line before getting the ball down. The ref was right up with play and made the correct decision ( I was on the goal line ) if he had been behind the play Kendal would have won this game. Well done Sir.
A great spectacle and my regards to a superb effort from Kendal.

Given ourselves every chance of the greatest of escapes after yesterday. With all three of the teams directly above still to play starting with Morley at home next weekend, which if we win would dump a very hungry cat slap bang in the middle of some very worried pigeons!!! COYGB

10 Cleckheaton       32
11 Doncaster Phoenix 31
12 Morley            30
13 Firwood Waterloo 27
14 Stockport.        1

More disappointment for Cleckheaton in their battle against relegation as they crashed to another defeat to visiting Billingham. The game started well for the hosts as they scored two tries in the opening 20 minutes to lead 12-0, but poor defence saw Billingham run in 4 tries to lead 24-12 at half time. A better effort in the second half saw the only scores go to Billingham with 2 penalty goal to leave the final score 12-30. With 5 games remaining and visits to Hull and Huddersfield to come, Cleckheaton face a battle for survival in National 3 North.

Certainly a game of two halves at Rossendale, but quite a spectacle. The Kendal winger was outstanding in the first half as were the whole Kendal side, the forwards scoring early with a magnificent drive. Dale weren't given the chance to 'wake up' and the Kendal try fest continued with a score early in the second half. Then the Dale beast awoke and the race for victory was on seeing the home side win with a try in the final play. Some poor kicking spoiled a great Dale second half performance without which the margin of victory may have been more. The official had a very good game and despite pretty harsh conditions underfoot there was plenty of good open running from both teams, a credit to the abilities of both sides. Dale with have to start playing from the whistle and for the full eighty plus if play off aspirations are to come. Well done all involved.

A superb effort from Ilkley at Wirral yesterday. The visitors had the kitchen sink thrown at them for the first quarter of the game, but soaked up the intense pressure well. They then got onto equal footing in terms of possession and won three penalties, one of which was put over for a deserved half-time lead of three points.

This looked to be enough for the win in the third quarter of the game, but then, for once, fortune smiled on the Dalesmen, as a poor drop-kick attempt hit the base of the post. The Wirral defence fumbled the rebound and prop Josh Huckleberryerham was on hand to touch down.

Ten-nil up would have been enough as it happened, but Ilkley made sure when good hands - particularly in the dire conditions - saw stand-off Charlie Morgan finish off a sweet move.

This win has been some time coming, but come it did and any rugby realist would agree that the better side won on the day.

Agreed, Ilkley thoroughly deserved their win. Wirral had a poor day with nothing going their way and dropped passes with the try line in sight a particular frustration; Ilkley stuck to their task well with good defence and intelligent clearance kicking and the result was a fair reflection of the play. You've got to go back to 2010 to when Wirral were last 'nilled' - well done Ilkley.
